We are planning our first Disney Cruise and are wondering what is the best way to get from the airport (Orlando) to the cruise terminal (Port Canaveral)? I imagine the Disney bus is the easiest, but we are a family of 5 and $350 seems a bit steep for a bus ride. Has anyone gotten there in any other way or am I just being ridiculous seeing as how much we are spending for the cruise? :earsboy:

Thanks!

For a family of five book your own private transfer and save $$$$$$$

The DCL coach is good for 1 or 2 people over that it is far cheaper to pay for your own private transfer, use people like FLTours.

Agreed - Private Transfer would be more economical, plus they may do a supermarket stop for you to stock up on adult beverages if that's your thing.

Thanks! I will be looking into that more as we get closer to the date (6 months vs 18 months), but right now via FLTours we could go round trip in a limo for $355. I'd rather ride in a limo with my screaming kids than in a bus with everybody else's screaming kids!

Is there a car rental return at the port? That would be groovy too!

It is down the road a bit. All the major car rental agencies are all right there. DH just us off, went to return the car, and then came back to the port on the shuttle. We could have checked in without him, but we waited. I think it was 30 or 45 minutes.

I would look into happy limo also. We've used them for 3 trips and have always had excellent service. Last cruise we booked a minivan and they upgraded us to a limo. You can get a discount code on allears.net

Also, never had screaming kids on the buses, they show great videos sand have fun trivia and mash up faces videos to keep you entertained.

The bus going to the port is actually a great way to start the cruise especially if it's your first Disney cruise. You can book just one way to save a little money to get the experience. It really is a completely stress free way to get to the port. Just my $.02

Thanks for your $.02! I should know that Disney wouldn't allow peoples first impressions to be bad ones. I do like the idea of taking the bus one way to have the kids experience it and I think my DW will also agree with you.

Thanks!
