What's the best way to give someone your ADR?

I have a ADR that I will not be able to use. I have someone who would like to use it. If I call and cancel chances are someone else will get it. What should I do? Can I call and have them change it to their last name instead or is there something I am missing?

Just have them check in using your name at the podium.

Just let them use your name, as long as it's not CRT or anything.

Ok but what if they are on the DDP and their last name doesn't match do you think they will even notice?

The best thing to do is a 3 way call between you, the people who want your reservation and the Disney Dining person helping you. If neither you nor the other couple/family has 3 way calling. can you have them over to your house? do they live near you? Otherwise the best you can do is just tell them exactly when you are going to call, have them call 2 minutes later ..they will get the ressie most likely.

Having them pretend they are you at the podeum only works if they have the exact number in their party as you have in yours. I have heard that Disney can not alway accomodate extra people in the party if they are not told before hand.

I had someone give me their LeCellier reservation, and they just changed the name on the ressie for me. Worked out great.

What if you are cancelling your trip? I have a 2 LeCellier dinner ressies for week of 9/22. I'm going to cancel and book for week of 9/8. I thought your dining ressies automatically cancelled if you cancelled your trip. I don't want to cancel either LeCellier ressie. Would rather give them to a fellow "Diser". I'm getting conflicting info. depending on the CM I talk to. Anyone know?

You should still be able to change the name on the reservation and give them to a DISer, just call the dining line, give them the confirmation number and tell them you want to change the name. It worked out fine for me, if the cm tells you that you can't do it, just politely end the call and call back to talk to someone else.

They do not automatically cancel. The resort reservation and ADR's are not connected.
