We're getting married at Disneys Boardwalk in July and are having a small lunchtime reception with a few family at the Grand Floridian. Can anyone help in explaining the best way using disney transport to get from A to B, bearing in mind not too keen on using the buses as will be in full wedding attire etc and the limosine service would have finished, thanks :)

I would probably have to say hire a car service. Or a cab. But I would probably hire a car instead of just using a taxi.

your wedding planner can arrange town car service for you. just double check that keeping the limo longer wont be cheaper since it holds more people!

You have several options using Disney transportation. Given that you will be getting married in July on the surface of the sun, there is really only one practical option (short of hiring a car).

You could take the friendship boat from the boardwalk to DHS. From there, you would walk from the boat dock at DHS to the buses which would take you to the Grand Floridian. There are better bus options (see below).

You could take the boat to EPCOT, walk through EPCOT (everyone would need a ticket which I assume they would have anyway) to the monorail station. Take the monorail to TTC and then the resort monorail to GF. While this is your only non-bus option, in July, in wedding garb, this could be brutal. It is a good walk from the Int'l Gateway to the monorail station.

Your best best, to my thinking, is take the bus from Boardwalk to MK. Walk a relatively short distance to the Monorail station at MK and get on the resort monorail. That minimizes the walking and you won't need park admission.

I think you would be best to hire a car but if your budget doesn't permit, these are the options that occurred to me.

You actually can't go thru EPCOT in wedding attire, disney doesn't allow it.

Also, i'm curious about the limo. You said you're getting married at the boardwalk and then going to the grand for your reception. Are you having an escape wedding that comes with 4 hours of limo service or a wishes wedding? We used our 4 hours of limo to get most everyone to the cermony, and then had it shuttle everyone to the reception and had plenty of time left on it, but didn't need it after that. I think we had an extra hour still. If you've got more questions, the ladies (and a few gentlemen) on t he weddings board are a big help.
