I'm starting to tire of all the spaghetti sauces I use. Here's my requirements: a nice sweet sauce that's on the thicker side. That's it.

Help me out guys.:D

I use Barilla Sweet Peppers & Garlic or Bertolli Italian Sausage. They're reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally good! Yes, I take the easy way out every time...LOL! :teeth:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Jar sauce is EVIL!!! Must...resist... ;)

Sorry, I'm half Italian, but was raised going to grandma's on sunday eating "gravy" and "macaroni", all homemade.

Back to your regularly scheduled thread :)

Dont know if its the best but for thick and sweet, I would suggest Prego(original, classic, or whatever the plain one is called).

I usually make my own sauce, but I do like the Pasta Bake sauces. The three cheese marinara gets my vote for a quick meal.

I too prefer to make it homemade, but I do love Newman's Mushroom Marinara. Yummy!:D

I prefer homemade also, but when I use a jarred sauce, I prefer Prego. I use the plain one and add some of my own spices to it. But I have to be pretty desperate to use jarred sauce. I usually make a crockpot full of sauce and freeze the leftovers in serving sized portions. I just used my last reserve yesterday, so it's time to make another batch!

My favorite jarred sauce is Emeril's Roasted Gahhhlic. It's not sweet, more spicy, but he has others.

We use Prego..... I'm the odd man out here- I do NOT like home made sauce...... Any homemade sauce I have ever had.

I make my own~never use sauce from a jar!!! gross me out!!

I do NOT like my foods sweet. Unless it is dessert!!! :p

I use Newman's Marinara... Brown some good ground sirloin... add the sauce, a little water, and a bit of extra garlic. It is good. Even has some real tomato bits in it... not just tomato puree and corn syrup like the fakey tasting jarred sauces.

I've read that you should always add a little olive oil to sauces from a jar.

The only sauce I'll eat at home is Porino's Traditional. Its made in West Warwick, RI (or used to be at least). It has a nice tomato flavor that is not overpowered by spices and it is on the thicker side. And I see now that the label says an ingredient is salt pork...hmmm...maybe that's why I like it so much!!

Prego Chunky Garden Vegetable - it is wonderful!!!

We really like Emeril's kicked up tomato. It is really fresh and tomatoey tasting, and has a little bit of a spicy kick!

Prego super mushroom....thick and sweet as they come!

I usually prefer jarred sauces. They are sweeter.
