What's the best rate you've received/heard of for Contemporary Tower rooms?

Considering an early Dec trip for MVMCP & would love to stay in the Tower at the Contemporary. How much would that set us back per night. I have DVC & will get an AP if it's cost effective.

In 2/02, we paid $150/nt for the CR Tower. I don't if we will see rates that low again, especially if the economy picks up.

Do you remember whether that was a special code, DVC, Annual Pass, FL rate?

It was one of the codes that anyone from anywhere could use- a post 9/11, Disney trying to fill rooms sort of code. I found it on the mousesavers site.

We paid $65 a night. We had a fantastic view of the Magic Kingdom. One morning it was so foggy we couldn't see a thing outside the window. It was very cool to watch the fog lift and the Kingdom begin to appear.

I THINK the year was 1976 and we could not believe we were paying so much money for a hotel room! My, how times have changed.

Just booked @ $249/night (tax included) for 3 nights in September for a Tower Club room.

We were there for $199 but it was two weeks after 9/11 and it was deserted.
