What's the best price you've received in December?

We are planning on going to WDW early December 08. Our plan is to stay at the Poly. However, that will change if we can't get a price break on the rooms.

What is the best price you have gotten there in December? Our back up will be Contemporary...same question applies to that.

In December 2003 we stayed at the YC on a package (first time I'd done that) due to a great deal offered in September of that year. Our 5 night stay was around $2300 including tickets 5 day tickets for two adults, one junior, and one child. We figured our room was about $200 a night (Dec 20-25) during the holiday season! (No dining plan at the time was offered so a package was tickets/room).

So there have been deals before....

In December 2001 or 2002, we paid $225 at Poly for Concierge with a Lagoon View. I seem to recall this was a 45-50% discount.

Last December 20-31 $63.20 plus tax at Pop.
That was the AAA rate and last day of Vaule Season.

We got $49 room rate with the 40% off pin. We are going from Dec 17th- Jan1 on that rate and then back to regular rate from Jan 1st- Jan 5th.

I got 40% off at Pop this year from Dec.19-28th. Since the 19th is value season, I got that rate for the whole stay. They are changing this for next year though.

Last year - stayed at AKL from 12-19 to 12-26 with park hopper plus tickets and dining plan (family of 4 - "3 over 10" and "1 under 10") for $3400.00 with a Disney Visa promo.

First week of December 2005, paid $79 a night for AKL standard (2 rooms), and was upgraded to Savanna view (both rooms). CM holiday discount! Last CM resort discount before hubby quit being a CM.....it was our swansong.

Most of the prices you are seeing are from years right after 9/11 when people weren't traveling as much. We got some great deals then, but things have changed and attendance is up. I don't know if you can expect a general code discount, but we have always been able to obtain an AP rate. I think the last few years the rooms have been discounted $75-80 a night for a deluxe, and you need to be flexible on resorts. Also, call as soon as possible after AP discounts are released because rooms are limited. Hope this helps.

I just checked Mousesavers.com historical files and it looks like there were discounts last year for packages and a room only codes. They were released in August, September, October, so just keep an eye on things. Good luck!

We stayed at POFQ in 2002 for $72 night plus tax from 12-19 to 12-25. We're planning on returning to WDW this December from 12-8 to 12-12. I, too, would love to stay at the Poly if codes came out for that time.

We got the Z or Y Code (???) that was all the buzz back in March which was good for 40% off so for December of this year we check in to the Poly on 12/18/07 and room (including tax) is $222 a night for a garden view...SOLD! We are excited to have the chance to stay at the Poly for our Grand Gathering of 16 people over the Christmas Holiday!
