Assuming FTP is offered for all Disney Visa Card members, AND assuming it's only available for moderates, where should we stay? Fast and easy transportaion to/from parks is our #1 priority. Great pool for kids 10 & 7 is #2. Thanks!

POFQ...the kids will love the pool and slide. You will love the newness (just refurbished & reopening 3/21) and the intimate feel (smallest of all moderates).

Coronado Springs fits your exact description as far as good transportation and a great pool. I have not stayed at any other moderates, so I have nothing to compare to, but I stayed in the Coronado 2 weeks ago, and those were the 2 best things about the resort (good transportation and a great pool). I thought it was a good resort although the rooms were a little small, and the Pepper Market was just ok. It was definitely worth the price, and I would not hesitate to stay there again. Feel free to ask me any questions.

Have to put in a plug for CBR. Multiple nice pools, nice food court and market. Largest rooms of all moderates. Beautiful (as all resorts) surroundings.

We have stayed at CSR, and CBR.

Between the 2:

CSR has the better pool area, with an awsome slide. You can see the kids from wherever you are sitting or standing. At CBR, the pool is broken up, and I found myself chasing them much more. However, depending on what time of the year you go, CSR pool sometimes closes earlier than the others.

We found the transportation better at CSR. Less bus stops, to sit through, and not as many full busses.

On the downside, at CSR you can be close to the food court, or the main pool. If you between the 2, you are pretty far from both. We don't go to the foodcourts often, so we chose the pool area. The snack bar was pretty good, and you could get your mugs refilled there.

We liked the theming at CBR a bit better. Light and airy. Also, it was nice that the food court, was by the pool. We stayed in Martinique which was the closest bldg. to the pool. I don't think we would have liked the other areas as much.

Can't comment on the POFQ, but I think it is next on our list.

They are all great. It really will come down to your personal tastes. We love CSR!! YOu can check out pics and info at our website below.

CBR! Kids (including DH, 25) love the pirate fort at the main pool. Also, I think I have heard that the rooms there are the biggest of any moderate.:D

Here's a plug for POR. Our Favorite. We have stayed there 3X in the last 3yrs, and never waited more than 10 mins. for a bus (we've only gone in May, though) My kids loved the theme pool, and I loved that there are several quiet pools all over the resort, so none them were crowded. We did the food court every day, it was fine(although I miss the taco-salad bar)The landscaping is pleasing to the eye, it's so quiet and charming there. The boat to downtown is Great! Pretty soon we will be there again, I can't wait. 1 piece of advice if you decided to stay there....Don't feed the birds by the pool, they'll start to get a little agressive. one took the hamburger bun right off my son's plate!Good luck choosing!!:earsgirl:

File Transfer Protocol.

But I'm sure that's not how it's being used here. I would like to know myself. And what the deal envoled?

Thanks

FTP was offered last summer as the pay 4 nights and stay for 7. It included room and Ultimate Park Hoppers. Rumors are it will be offered to (some?) Bank One Visa holders this summer, too. This is great because the discount is not only for the room but for park passes as well.

Can you guess where I'd send you?

Thats what I thought it might be. I'm hoping they offer that again this year. Was it just offered to disney card holders lastyear?

Hey colonel,

Looks like we're neighbors. You must be at Scott. We're from down the road a bit in Vandalia. Welcome to Dis.

It was offered to EVERYONE. I was fuming, because we had already paid for our summer vacation, and couldn't afford to take two. I'm sure that every other family in my town went to WDW last summer! I hope it will be OUR turn this year!

iloveeyore,

Yeah, we went in April because DD's high school band performed, and I couldn't get away from work to take advantage of it, or we would have gone back.

CBR all the way!!! The theming is the best although as you can, we are biased - we love the feel of being in the tropics and staying at areas like Aruba, Jamaica, Trinidad makes you feel like you are on an island but within Disney!!!

Thanks for the welcome, 10drum. I do live close to Scott, but actually I'm not military. The Colonel nickname comes from somewhere else.

I really hope the new FTP offer comes to be. I would really love to stay at any of the moderates. I've never stayed on site and they all seem really nice.

Colonel

Assuming they do offer FTP again, can't you just change your existing reservation to a FTP?

Nicole
