What's the best/least busy time in July/August?

Hi, everyone
We're thinking of taking a quick run down to WDW in either July or August. I haven't been there in the summer for quite awhile, so I'm looking for some feedback on times to avoid. What's it like right after the 4th of July? Packed?
Any info/suggestions would be welcome!

If you are booking on points, I would go with whatever time they have available! You are 2 weeks to 2 months out, so get whatever you can get.

Days leading up to July4 & 4th very busy in our experience 2 yrs ago; from July 7 - 12 alot less crowded. If we travel during summer months ( which we most often do ) we prefer from Aug. 15 on because many school districts are in session from that point on & colleges start up as well.

Go as late as you possibly can. The closer you get to the start of school, the fewer people are there. That said, be aware that later you go, the more risk you have of running into hurricane season. And when you go, I strongly recommend spending the days napping, in the pool, and having enjoyable meals, and then hitting the parks under the cover of darkness, when the crowds and the heat are more bearable.
