Whats the Best Hotel In Disney ???

That is a tough one!! My favorite is Animal Kingdom Lodge, then Caribbean Beach, then the Fort Wilderness cabin!!!:goodvibes

Overall, I still have to say the Grand Floridian. It has a "wow" lobby, nice restaurants & shops, a beach, a view of the MK and a Monorail station. It's also a beautiful part of the landscape.

Second choice: Wilderness Lodge

My sentimental favorite is the Polynesian

I havent stayed at all of them yet but from the resorts that I have stayed at POR is one of my favorites... Everything about it is wonderful... (this could change on my next trip... hoping to stay at WL or CR :goodvibes )

Everyone will have a different opinion on this question. It is extremely subjective depending on what things are important to each person. I've stayed at many and I really don't have a favorite. I liked them all.

I'd say any Disney Deluxe resort that is not spread over multiple buildings: AKL, WL, CR, BC, YC, BW. Take your pick, you can't go wrong!

I've moved this one from Theme Parks over to the Resorts board.

Thanks,

Knox

Very subjective and everyone has a different opinion but here's a vote for Shades of Green.

I think it really depends on your party and what you want out of your stay.

If you've got little kids and want a good value because you'll only be sleeping and showering there, then Pop Century might be a good choice.

If you are a couple looking for a little romance, but want to stay on a budget, then Port Orleans French Quarter allows you to guarantee a king sized bed at a reasonable price.

If you want something really different that you can't find anywhere else, a savannah view room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge would be perfect.

If you've got teens, you might want to consider staying at the Boardwalk or Beach Club in a 2BR DVC unit. It will give your kids their own space, and the parents will have a nice king sized bed and room with a jetted soaking tub.

If you want a more reserved atmosphere, the Grand Floridian might be a great choice.

If you are looking for really personalized service, book a room on the 14th floor of the Contemporary.

As you can see, there is something for everyone, and it really depends on your budget and what is important to you in terms of amenities as well as the make up of your party.

Wow, this is a tough question! All Disney resorts are fantastic, but our personal favorites are the Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, and the Polynesian in no particular order. We love each one for different reasons and have had some of our best Disney time staying at these resorts.

Well, this is probably goiing to get me lynched on this board, but IMHO Disney prices are getting so high that none of them are a good value LOL! (Sorry, but when I compare room quality, bed quality, amenities etc to the hotels I stay in on business for a LOT LESS Disney is WAY overpriced) So since I am not a fan off feeling like I am overpaying I would not say any of them are 'best"

If you can get the Pop or AllStars on a promotion rate I think they are fun hotels. For the mods I like CBR (once again only with a discount) The Deluxes... EH... This is where the "rip off" occurs IMHO. A lot of money for not much more then at the mods....and a lot more then you pay for a much nicer hotel off site. (Dont' believe me compare the Disney Deluxe prices to other 3 star hotels.. and YES they are 3 star hotels. I can often get a true 4 star for less)

That said, until recently I would still pay for AKL. IMHO it is truly unique. It's not just "put on a prety outside" and charge a lot. The animals alone make this one worth while. However, as my boyfriend said last weekend "it's kind of disappointing" We stayed at the VAK with my DVC. It was his first "Disney Deluxe" experience. He liked the Savannah and could see why I enjoyed that, but like me complared the room etc to industry standards and it was lacking.....

I love AKV - so please say what is lacking.

It is a timeshare not a hotel room. maybe next time you might consider concierge?

The room was fine.

This is not a "deluxe" hotel. As my boyfriend said, the service isn't there, the ameneties aren't there, the bed quality isn't there. He was comparing the rate Disney wanted to what we got. And it is lacking. Sorry, for what Disney charges I should not have to PAY extra for exceptional service. The beds should be at least equal to what the Greensboro Marriott provides in terms of comfort, linen quality etc.

Yes, he was in a timeshare room, but the facts remain, it's not a 4 star hotel even in the "hotel" side. (I have stayed there several times and I agree with the rating agencies it's not a 4 star, but Disney charges like it is! LOL!)

I love it too, but not because it provides great service and/or value, but because of the animals. I will keep staying there, no biggie but I won't pay Disney prices ever again. If I can't use the DVC points I stay off site, more bang for the buck, not much loss in location etc.....

I have to agree. For what you get, Disney is very over priced. We have stayed at some very nice hotels for alot less then 300.00 a night, and that was a deal at Disney for CR. For that kind of money 3-4 hundred dollars I feel that should be concierge! I have no idea how people justify paying so much for free snacks and water. IMOP:confused3

Which is totally not up to the standard of other hotels that offer a club level. Have to agree with Carol. BUT, there's location, location, location to think about.

For me it's the CR. Having the monorail being an elevator ride is amazing. As is being able to sit on your balcony and have a full view of the MK (not just the top third of the castle), and a full view of Seven Seas Lagoon. The rooms are among the biggest on property, and the refurbed rooms are very stylish. Some say the resort lacks a theme, but to me the theme is the monorail. I loved watching it from from outside balcony, and several times ran through my room, out the door, and watched it pass through the hotel from my indoor balcony ;) I also spent a little time each night watching Mickey and his friends at Chef Mickeys from the interior balcony. I've only stayed there once, but it was the most enjoyable hotel stay I've ever had. The other Disney resorts I've stayed at are ASMo, CBR, and Fort Wilderness. It will be hard to stay anywhere else after this last visit...unless prices continue to soar pirate:

you would have liked OKW when it was new. they had all the bed stuff, plus the beds were soft.

hated it - back problems. - So I slept on the sleeper sofa in the livingroom in a 1-bedroom.

in a studio slept on the floor.

just like the harder beds - they are great for my back. So sorry you don't.

the other bed stuff I guess like some of the other things I loved about OKW - visitors took them away. they have nicer sheets, definitely nicer towels, more pillows on the bed.

the other marriotts I have stayed at - well I can't tell a difference in DIsney and Marriott as far as beds go.

what I didn't like about the marriott timeshares is all the work they want YOU to do.

take the sheets off the beds, towels, and where to stack them. put the dishes in the dish washer and start it. clean out the refrigerator.

this is a timeshare not a house.

oh one more thing they have a check list for me to look and see if everything was there when I checked in....

now I don't know what they would have done if I didn't to do these things - charge me extra or what. but it was irrating.
