Sometimes there's too much focus on the negative. I saw this on another message board and thought I'd ask over here.

I actually had to think about a recent compliment, then I remembered.
DH told me last week how smart he thinks I am. :lovestruc Made me feel REALLY good!

Soooo what was the best compliment you've received lately?

My best compliments always come from my DD.

Yesterday she told me that I'm the best mom ever! :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

I have such a great daughter. :)

I would have to say the best compliment(s) I recieved lately were from a friend.

Your wonderful, pretty, smart, and entertaining.

Pretty much made my week :)

I've gotten several emails lately telling me that I'm a great inspiration to others for something that I've accomplished. Its nice to hear, but I'm just a woman trying to deal with my life, and doing the best I can. I'm not perfect, and though I love the fact that I serve as an inspiration to others, they also need to follow their own path and heart.

I recieved a great one from a perfect stranger at Blizzard beach last August. I am sooo self concious in a bathing suit, I dread buying them. this year I settled on a plain navy blue swim skirt and top from Lands end. This lady came up to me while I was buying lunch and said that was the "classiest" bathing suit she had seen in a very long time and asked where I got it at.
Talk about spreading pixie dust. My confidence went soaring.!!

I was getting ready for bed and I had taken off my over-shirt and had on the tank that was underneath it when my DH came in and said "wow, you HAVE lost a lot of weight, haven't you!"

:lovestruc

Met my DD's college roommates last weekend, and then took DD out to dinner. She got a text message from one of them saying "Why didn't you tell me your parents are so adorable?" But...isn't it little children and OLD PEOPLE :scared1: who are "adorable"?

My mom told me what great parents she thinks DH and I are, and that we're doing a terrific job with our two kids. Coming from such a wonderful mother, that feels really good!!

Great post! My son (23) sincerely thanked me for being 'generous and kind' for having his girlfriend stay with us this past weekend. Gosh, it feels good to be appreciated! :)

Had parent-teacher conferences last week, and all of DD's teachers told me what a great kid we were raising. I know they were complimenting her (said she's kind, respectful, helpful, and doing very well academically), but I think we had a lot to do with it, too!! :thumbsup2

At my niece's college grad. three people thought I was a graduate!! I'm 41. When I told one woman my age she said, "WHo are you? Benjamin Button??" lol...talk about feeling good.

After a recent hair cut that I felt was too short, DH said, It doesn't matter, you're very pretty. AWWWW...

and just today my dr. said "you're a smart woman"...that felt good.

Sounds like you raised a good one! :)

I'm afraid I can't remember any specific ones recently :guilty: .

Though when I get down my DD tells me I'm beautiful. But I'm sitting here thinking I'd really like to get some more compliments from other folks too.

agnes!

A friend read the manuscript for the book I recently finished writing. She told me she loved it and wanted to know when she could get an illustrated copy. I told her I'd give her a signed copy as soon as I found someone to publish it! :goodvibes

Agnes! I think you are smart, funny and kind.

I've been in a terrible funk lately (unemployed and other crud) and maybe everybody just realizes it and is complimenting me alot but the ones that mean the most to me are the ones that come from my girls. Of course the ones they pass on from their friends are great too "Your mom is so nice" :goodvibes I am dealing with other moms in the band who act like they are the ones still in High School:confused: so I admit we are trying to figure them out also but the highest compliment from my 17 year old lately has been..."Why would I do the stuff their kids are doing behind their backs when I have you as a mom?" :lovestruc

A guy at my church always says positive stuff to me, last time he said, "why you are looking marvelous, you have a smile on your face etc.". Its so good to hear stuff like that when you have stage 4 cancer, 7 operations this year etc. He always brings a smile to my face. My dh and 3 ds think he is a really cool guy and his wife always asks how I am too. :)
