What's the best beach near Orlando?

We are kinda thinking of either doing a half beach/half Orlando vacation next year, or mostly beach (for a change). What would be the best beach near Orlando with a lot of stuff to do? We don't want just a quiet beach with nothing to do, but somewhere where we can keep busy , but still has a nice beach. Does any beach have a nice boardwalk area? Thanks!

Sand Key/Clearwater Beach.

The Sheraton Sand Key resort is located in Clearwater but the beach is right next to Sand Key park/beach. It is pretty quiet there. The photo in my signature was taken at Pier 60 this past summer which is located there.
