What's the atmosphere at a Family Fun Run?

We're looking at running in Mickey's Halloween Fun Run in October. It looks like a blast. I was thinking that our daughter (who will be 4 1/2 at the time) will probably be too young to participate, right? If so, she can wait at the finish with her daddy, who isn't terribly interested in running. Weird, since he's the runner in the family. I'll be doing this with my niece if that's the case.

I've never been much of an athlete, but I really want to do this. I'd love to get in good enough shape to run the Princess Half Marathon some day, but for now, I'm really excited about this one!
