OK, catch me up.......

I have noticed on several threads talk of a "SMELL IN THE BATHROOMS WHEN YOU FLUSH" ?????

Is this a new problem??? We have been on 2 prior cruises with DCL and never noticed anything......
What causes it??
Can it be fixed??
How bad is it really??

I am in 5520 and apparently "SOMEONE" has stolen our storage trunk..... Is it going to stink too????

HELP!!!!!!

Barbara

I was next door and no stink there. And no, we didn't steal your steamer trunk!........But the towels, and clock, and curtains, and remote control, and art work on the walls, the bed, that nifty sofa bed, the even handier bed that comes from the ceiling, on those.....I have no comment!;)

Thanks!! Breathing much easier now....:jester:

And I'm not so sure I believe you.........;) ............ How DID you get all those other "souviners" home...... HMMMMM?????
:jester: :jester: :jester:

LOL

keith & co. .... Two words...Collapsable suitcases. You can take one regular and stuff it with 47 flat ones. Then when the time comes to "purchase" those souvineers of the shipboard stateroom....well, you see;) ;) But also, I bought this really cool steamer trunk while on board from the giftshop called 5520 that could hold lots of stuff and even be luggage tagged for easy carrying!;) ;) Ooops...I mean someone else bought a really cool trunk from 5520 gave it to me. Yea, that's what I meant to say....They gave it to me.

We were on the 4 night cruise in November and the second that we walked into our room for the 1st time (6590) I noticed the smell. We immediately went out into the hall and got the gentleman taking care of our room. He came in with some something or other and took care of it. He said that sometimes the drains do not drain properly and to call right away if the smell came back, which thank goodness it never did. So if you do have a smell just call cabinkeeping and they should be able to take care of it.

Well, it just proves that old adage once again - one person's perfume is another person's poison...

Buckaroo....Two separate issues going on in this thread for poor Keith & Co. First, there is a smell issue, AND someone has stolen their steamer trunk. There is an urgency to getting rid of odors and recovering the absconded storage unit. The colapsable suitcases were most definately to be used for storage unit reconsance missions and collection of evidence of decorating one's home in Disney themed large furniture objects and not recovery of offending smells material.

I know...

First, there is a smell issue

And what was it again concerning the smell?

There is an urgency to getting rid of odors

Ok, and what else?

AND someone has stolen their steamer trunk.

That's a shame. And what is urgent about the theft?

recovering the absconded storage unit.

Ok, I see. Now, just for the record, can you confuse the heck out of me again by redefining the "meaning" behind these two issues?

The colapsable suitcases were most definately to be used for storage unit reconsance missions and collection of evidence of decorating one's home in Disney themed large furniture objects

Ok. I don't "get it." But ok. :earseek:

Buckaroo's Dad,
My3kids and I have perfected the art of carrying on 2 threads (check out Sercret Port Hole Experts) in one!!! It is a fairly new talent on the DCL boards.......... But, no, it is not some kind of a secret code where in My3kids and I are discussing the finer points of "Collecting" DCL property..... UH...... I mean souviners! Hopefully we will not be collecting smells!!!!!
HA HA HA HA HA HA

My3 kids,
So am I to understand that DCL has actually begun to sell life size replicas of my MIA TST to VIPS????

Barbara

PS..... Thanks for the suitcase idea...... I'm sure I won't be needing it!!! :jester: :jester:

keith & co. - thank you for explaining! I was more confused than I usually am...

ncligs - lol!

Barbara: I don't know if they were VIP's or not, but the people I saw carrying your steamer trunk away sure looked happy, in a guilty sort of way.!;)

For those confused readers, be assured neither Keith & Co nor my3kids actually collect souvineers of cruises from their staterooms. All memories are images minds or were purchased in the gift shop.

.......No clocks, linens, or stateroom memorabilia were harmed or stolen in the creation of this thread. ......

Is that sewage smell back on the ship again. It happened to us in our cabin in May 2002, but in the end found the aft bathrooms were all clogged, so figured that was the problem.

At about day 4or 5 on our 7 day there was a noticeable stench which started coming from the bathroom - lasted the remainder of the cruise.

What room were you in? Our smell was coming from the bathroom with the bathtub in it. I had to close the door and put towels on the bottom to keep the smell from coming out in the room. Didn't help much.

But what is the problem with that? Maybe after dry dock they will have it fixed.

we were in 7122 - and our stench came from the toilet side - the tub side was fine. we did keep the door closed, however, when you had to go - opening the door would hit you with a massive whiff of it.

If I read that right, I guess the smell problem comes from "in the end"
