My dd had a hard year this year and we just moved to new State new School which is very small (only 6 kids in class) so she hasn't made friends yet. We usually do a family and friends party for both kids but not knowing anyone makes that hard. So we'll take her to Disney.

I'm trying to make it special. What restaurants are good for kids bdays. I was thinking of CRT but it's probably booked. I plan on ordering the castle cake I've seen. Which places make it more special and fun?

Any other "special surprises" advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've read a bit about Coral Reef and that sounds good. But I was hoping for some other ideas. Anyone know how much it costs for diver and menu?

Any other suggestions?

Having a difficult time using search engine.

I recommend the dinner at 1900 Park Faire. It's Cinderella themed, good food and good character interaction. Also be sure to have it noted on the reservation wherever you go that it's her birthday. For younger DDs birthday we were staying at GF, the hotel sent up a personalized photo of Cindy (not the animated one, a photo in front of the castle) and a GF chocolate bar. At1900 Park Faire she received an autographed laminated placemat. Also be sure to get a birthday button at City Hall in MagicKingdom. Enjoy! We have celebrated a lot of our girls' birthdays at Disney, it makes for a fun trip and a great memory.

My daughter will be 10 in a couple of months. We did CRT for dinner. You never know. You might be able to get in! It's not as difficult as the breakfast. Also, we loved Chef Mickey's for dinner and Ohana's for breakfast. Both have great Character interaction, but I'm not sure about birthday cakes, etc. I do know that my daughter loved all three of these restaurants and we'll be doing all of them next time we go. A couple of other fun restaurants are Coral Reef, especially if you get right up next to the tank. DD loved this one too. And we really enjoyed SciFri Dine In. The food wasn't great but the atmosphere is so cool. DD told me that she wanted to stay there longer. It's more casual. Coral Reef was the "fanciest" that we did on our trip.

Good luck! I hope things get better and she makes some new friends. It's a tough age.

Angie
