What's so great about POFQ?

I have seen a lot of excited comments about this resort reopening. We are potentially staying at a Moderate for our next trip, we have only stayed Deluxe or Villas before, I'd really like to know which is the best option.

I looked at the pictures of the resort and actually the Riverside looked prettier. Hard to really get an overview from pictures like that though.

It's always SOOO hard to decide on a new resort!

Any help here? :cool1:

I stayed at the POR in September, it was my first stay in a moderate and I really enjoyed it. I stayed in OakManor and it was a great location, really close to everything.
The only reason I want to stay in the POFQ this visit is due to the fact that it was just re-furbished. It will be nice to stay in a resort that was just done over.

What's so great about POFQ?? EVERYTHING!! It's our favorite WDW resort. Can't wait to check out the renovations.

I like the POFQ because it's a lot more compact than the other moderate resorts. The other resorts are a lot more spread out than the POFQ.

I also love the atmosphere there. It's so bright and cheery. I love walking around the resort.

I think the staff at the POFQ is fantastic (best of any resort I've stayed in). They have always been so helpful. They have really great management there, and hopefully that hasn't changed.

The newly refurbished rooms is a big plus to stay in there this year as well. The rooms were completely gutted--new carpets, wallpaper, and furnishings.

Like every other wdw resort, you'll find those who love POFQ and those who prefer another resort.

I love POR. Infact, I missed it so much my last trip, I changed my rez in May from WL to POR.

I love the bayou rooms and the size of POR. Their food court is the best and Boatwrights is wonderful.

I haven't yet stayed at POFQ, cuz the whole New Orleans theme never appealed to me. I have considered for my November trip, only because I'm curious about the renovations.

The fun thing about Disney resorts is that they are all great, it's just a matter of finding the one (or more than one :p ) that appeals to you.

We've stayed at POR (when it was called Dixie Landings) and POFQ on our last trip. We love them both. But we especially love POFQ because the theming is so wonderful, it's smaller so not as far to walk to the pool and food court from our room. Plus, that dragon slide pool is very cool for our kiddos! :)

We've never stayed at a deluxe, probably never will unless we win the lottery! lol So we have nothing better to compare POFQ to. But it satisfy's us so we'll likely stay there from now on! :)

Well, I am encouraged! I think I will try to book our rooms here. I am really trying to keep costs down, without staying offsite, we LOVE Disney. Also we want to go back for Christmas.

It sounds like it might be a great choice to try, I'd like to try all of the resorts at one time or another.

We have previously stayed deluxe because we have a family of 7, we also prefer to have a separate room from the kids (our family is a bit on the rambunctious side, all are active and opinionated). At this point I'm not sure if my oldest two will be there or not (DD20, DD19), so if I get two moderate rooms it seems more flexible.

I guess nobody has pictures of the new rooms yet, I can't wait for those to come out so I can get a peek.

Also hoping for AP rates, I'm thinking 7/21 - 8/1 for our trip.

One question, where are the parking lots in relation to the rooms? We will be driving there.

Can't wait! princess: princess: princess: princess:

POFQ is by far my favorite resort. We just returned from a Dec 7-14th trip to WDW and stayed at the Poly and I didn't feel like I was in Disney. We have stayed so often at POFQ that we consider it home and are spoiled by the size. When we were at Poly we stayed in Toukolu and thought it was horrible we had to hike so far to get to the food, pool, and monorail. We have a 3 yr old and a 22 month old and it is so much easier in a smaller resort. You won't go wrong with this choice. If you have any questions please feel free to PM me and I'll try and help. We have probably stayed at POFQ 12 + times. I was also on the College Program and got the chance to really tour the other resorts. I love to use my Disney knowledge to help people with their planning.
