what's one thing you wished you had packed?

IDK, I feel like I've way overpacked.

We overpacked, too!

I had my teens pack 2 outfits per day. Plus they brought two pairs of sneakers each and flip-flops. I figured they'd need to change midday due to the heat or the thunderstorms. Turns out, they slept until mid afternoon each day to beat the heat, and headed to the parks about 5pm.

I got up for park opening and changed each day during my afternoon break, so I used everything I brought.

Depending on where you are staying- earplugs! Nothing is worse than having someone next door let their door slam back onto the locked open deadbolt. It drives me mad especially when it is housekeeping.

Mini-flashlight to tuck in your purse- very helpful if you are out late and not in a well lit area.

Chapstick

Pocket tissues

Sudafed- I always bring some as it is something that you can't just pick up anywhere since you have to sign to buy it. It is the only thing that works for me if I get a head cold or my allergies go nuts.

I tend to over pack too, but staying in a timeshare that has a washer/dryer has really helped. Now I just bring too much other stuff.

Have a fun trip!

These are not things I have forgotten, but things I am always glad I remembered:

* Ziploc bags - variety of sizes
* Black Sharpie
* Small roll duct or packaging tape

I always take these things along, with no particular reasons in mind, but by the time we are back home, we seem to find a use for them.

We've brought sand, shells & wet swimsuits home from the beach in ziploc bags, divvied up snacks in snack sized ziplocs, saved leftovers, etc. Tape has gotten us home with a suitcase with a broken zipper, held together ripped rain ponchos and more. A black sharpie came in handy when my son got a football signed at a professional football training camp and one time we were glad we had the sharpie when we made signs saying "you have a flat tire" and held it up to the car next to us. They were grateful. :goodvibes

We're at the airport and our plane is going to be two hrs late. I know what I forgot- headphones so I could watch video on my iPad. I'm too antsy to rea

Usually less.

I do want to make sure I have cold medicine, advil, feminine products (especially with my teenage daughter), sunscreen - all of that is expensive if you need to buy it on site. Chargers.

Things that I try not to forget:

rain ponchos
hats
chapstick with spf
laundry bag
lots of zip lock bags
coffee/filters/splenda for the room
clothespins...we just went to the Vero Beach Resort and used clothes pins to make sure towels and bathing suits did not blow off balcony.
bug spray or wipes
moleskin, scissors, nail clippers, emory board
gum

We are doing a first time trip, so pretty much guaranteed to overpack :) Since we're doing MNSSHP as well, I definitely plan on packing safety pins and extra shoes for the party night to make costumes easier to deal with. We're also packing plenty of water, fruit, and shelf stable snacks to take into the parks since we want to use tons of snack credits on F&W in Epcot. Can't wait!

Great thread.

Bottle Opener and Corkscrew are a staple in DH's shaving kit.

THIS. I couldn't breathe from the cold I got and then thankfully the night we met up with a friend who lives in Orlando, she brought me some.

Things I have learned to bring:

Scissors, tape, hand soap, dish soap, sponge to wash dishes, paper plates/utensils for the room, meds/vitamins, band aids, sea bands, pillowcase/laundry basket for dirty clothes, books for kids to bring to read before bed, sippy cups or water bottle for them for bed, plastic cup to help rinse kids hair in shower (we have a sprayer at home), tattoos or something to stick in their pocket with our phone number on it.

Eta: the biggest thing I wished we had brought was post it notes to cover the sensor for the self flushing toilets last time since they still terrify my children. I have already got those with our trip planning folder, lol.

We always bring a power strip. Never enough outlets (at least at ASMo and Pop) to charge the devices of a family of four overnight.

I have $800 in cash to use $80 a day on food which is what the dining plan would've cost us. I think we can do much cheaper because DD still eats kid's meals. My mother thinks I'm insane to bring that much cash. I would use the hotel safe and just take out what I need each day. She thinks I should bring say $400 and charge everything else. What do you think?

I like to charge things as much as possible so I don't risk losing the cash, but also to rack up cash back on my credit card.

I bring a lot of the things the previous posters have mentioned but I never go to a hotel without a couple small chip clips or clothes pins to keep those curtains shut tight so no light gets in in the morning!

Spare set of eye glasses and sunglasses
A Mini eye glasses repair kit
A mini sewing kit, safety pin
Postcard stamps
Nail polish remover

Laxatives! I had to buy some a few years ago at the hotel and it was $9.00 for 4 pills.
