What's on YOUR Thanksgiving table?

We had Turkey and Ham (both ordered from Honey Baked Ham)
Mashed potatoes
Mac and cheese
Sweet potato soufflé
Green bean casserole
Stuffing
Rolls
Gravy
Pumpkin and Apple pies

Some of these items were homemade and some were not. All delicious!

I was tasked with mashed potatoes this year, to take to my sister's for dinner. I found ATK's genius Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes recipe, which can be made up to two days ahead and then just heated before service for 14 minutes in the microwave. They were a stand-out.

I also brought Gougeres for before dinner (gruyere), which turned out to be perfect because they had Champagne to celebrate my niece's recent engagement, and they're lighter than air so no one filled up before dinner.

This is the first year in over 25 that I'm not making dinner (work and class stuff going on). DH and I are taking his aunt to a local hotel restaurant that's having a Thanksgiving buffet. They're having standard Thanksgiving fare, but also some appetizers, brunchy stuff (omelets, etc.), soups, fresh shrimp and crab claws. Desserts are a variety of pies, pastries, and cakes. No cleanup!

...but no leftovers either. 😢
So...the buffet with mandatory tax and mandatory 26% gratuity came to just under $100/person. It's what we budgeted, but still.

Food was good, hot, fresh, well-replenished. But so, so many people. And loud. It was good for a single year, but we definitely won't be doing it again.

We had:

Marinated turkey
Chicken noodles
"Green potatoes" (mashed potatoes with butter, cream cheese, garlic, chives)
Sweet potatoes
Cranberry apple sauce
Cranberry salad
Stuffing (homemade, but "regular" I guess)
Sausage and pear stuffing with cranberries
Homemade crescent rolls
Deviled eggs
Pumpkin cheesecake balls
Caramel custard pie
Veggie and olive plates

Oh, and egg drop soup and an avocado with an egg baked in it, for my daughter who can't eat meat (broth is fine, actual meat is problematic) or dairy (she got her own, dairy free mashed potatoes, too).
