A 2-9 start is nothing to worry about for Adrian Gonzalez.

At the news conference to announce his seven-year extension with the Red Sox, the first baseman expressed no worries over the slow start to the season.

"The one good thing about starting 2-9 [is] it means that we're going to win a lot more games than we're going to lose going forward," Gonzalez said. "I know and I'm fully confident that come September, we're going to be in the middle of a pennant race and in a position that we're going to make the playoffs.

"I'm very confident about that."
