I've just realised that Americans will pronounce the 'Caribbean' in 'Pirates of the Caribbean' the way they normally do.. which sounds weird. Pirates of the cah-rib-ee-en.

I'd be jelly of people who finish for Summer earlier than me but I had a month for Easter and I finish school in a few weeks anyway so it's coolbeans.

July 22nd. then we go back on the 2nd September, so we get a little over a month off. it's about 5-6 weeks.

Some people pronounce Caribbean as "cur-i-bean" with a "u".

I finish June something, about 3-4 weeks from now.
Then I start whenever my new college starts, sometime early-mid September.

You mean like cah-RIB-ee-en. With the emphasis on the second syllable?

I say it cah-rah-BEE-an. Emphasis on the third syllable.

yep! every school in the country gets about the same amount of time off. August is the BEST month of the year. because it's the month that you don't have to think about school at all, and it's normally the month when most people go on holiday and when it's hottest. so yeah. I can't believe you get so long for summer! what month do you go back?
