Are there some pieces of furniture you would love to have? Maybe you don't have space for them, or like me, money for them ;) , but what's on your list?

I would love an entertainment center, a china cabinet, and a tall dresser/chest of drawers. I think my apartment would look much more complete and "homey" if I had those.

The list is endless and I can't afford any of it!!1
Last year I saw a beautiful, cherry sleigh bed $8,000.. that won't fit my budget any time soon!

#1 on my list is a new couch. Mine is third-hand and squeaks pretty badly, which can be quite embarrassing at times. :rolleyes1

I want a new couch, a new entertainment center, new tv (I guess that isn't furniture..) and some new dressers for my living room.

Actually, I want a new everything. :teeth:

WOW that is high. In 1998 (I know the year since the peices are hand signed) we has a local craftsman make us a solid oak sleigh bed (not the new style but the traditonal style one), a tall chest of drawers, a double dresser with triple mirror and two night stands for a lot less than that.

Our furniture purchase are now complete.

I'm looking for a loft bed (with drawers and a desk) for my older son. We aren't in a big hurry for it, but that will be our next furniture purchase. We'll wait a few more years before getting one for my younger son too. Everything else in the house is fairly new, so we won't be needing anything else for awhile.

I've ran out of space but would love the disney furniture for my disney room!! I had just bought new furniture a few months before all of the disney stuff came out or I would have bought it in a heartbeat!! I love it! I'd love more furniture to display more disney collectibles, but just don't have the space. our house is pretty good size, I just shop too much ;)!!!

A whole room full of bookcases. :teeth: We moved into this house two years ago with the intention of using the front room as a library. The room is still pretty much empty waiting for DH to get going on it. It started out with me just wanting bookcases but he added a windowseat and cabinets to the design--then I think it was overwhelming and he kind of gave up. We've gone back to my original design and I'm hoping I'll have them soon. I'm so tired of going through a zillion boxes in the basement to find a certain book.

After that comes two new mattresses--one for dd and one for our guest bedroom.

- a bedroom set
- a Grandfather clock (an antique not a knock off)
- antique writing desk
- cedar chest
- a closet organizer (does that count as furniture?)
- a real dining room table & chairs

Anything that isn't a hand-me-down :)

Actually, I would like to get a headboard for DH and I. Most everything else is antique stuff from our grandparents, so it's pretty cool.

I want to completely redo everything in my living room. Paint the walls, new carpet, and all new furniture - the works! Don't know when I'll get around to it, but that is my wish list!

Book Shelves! Lots of book shelves. Also, a nice china hutch, new sofa/loveseat/coffee tables. Actual bed for our guest room (there's just a frame in there). Game table for the play room. A piano.........does that count as furniture? I haven't had one since I was 12...............I'd love that.

Oh, I read up and yes, I'd love a cedar chest and a grandfather clock, too.

I'm looking for a loft bed for my son, also AND the perfect leather bench for the end of my bed!

Dining room suite...more DH than me as our is still ok in candlelight.

And I would love a chaise lounge type thing for my living room...we have a huge picture window that I would love to loll about and look out onto.

DH and I were just drooling over some Amish-built bedroom furniture last night. Gorgeous stuff and so much better made than anything else out there. Cheaper, too! But to buy a whole set is still too expensive for us, and we're probably just going to buy a $100 headboard from Pier 1 instead. :( Crate and Barrel has a fantastic trunk for $500 that we want to buy as our living room coffee table. It's so great; we can put our DVDs, blankets, remotes, etc in it! And it looks awesome.

We're lucky, though, we have gotten a lot of furniture since moving into our new house last year. My brother and sister-in-law gave us their dining room set complete with china cabinet!

I forgot about a curio cabinet. I would love a place to display my Disney collectibles. I just can't find one that isn't too country-ish or too formal to go with my other furniture.

I love it too! It is too steep for my budget (well, anything over about $50 is too steep for my furniture budget, LOL) and it's too dark to match the rest of my furniture, but it is sooooo cute.

My wish list (and it's been on there for a long time, lol!) includes a brand new bedroom set. We've had ours since we were first married in 1987 and it's pretty old looking (not to mention outdated - we have a waterbed  )

As soon as we have the money, I plan on throwing EVERYTHING in that room out and re-doing the entire bedroom in a South Pacific theme complete with mosquito netting around the bed... My goal is this fall (if I don't spend the money on a WDW trip in Sept). We'll see...

And I'd love new curtains in my family room. I have the fabric (bought it 6 months ago and it's STILL sitting here.... :rolleyes1) Another project for the fall! :teeth:

Other than that, my house will be complete.

Edited to add: Bookcases!! How could I forget that?? As fast as I add another bookcase, we fill it right up with books. I need more!!

My DGM died 6 months ago and left each grandchild a very generous inheritance. I've thought and thought and thought about what to do with it. I finally decided that 80% will be saved away to help with the kids' college expenses and 10% will be kept for growth. The other 10% will be used for a new dining room suite.

I'd like a corner china, sideboard, and pedestal table that will seat 12.

Please, no flames. This has been a difficult decision for me. Yes, perhaps the wise thing would be to save it all. But, looking at the broker's statement every quarter just doesn't give me warm fuzzy memories of Grandma and Papa. I think using some of their gift for a tangible thing, an heirloom, per se, will be more meaningful to me.

I'm sure your DGM would want you to enjoy family dinners at your new dining room set :goodvibes

I would love a new bedroom set. We have a bunch of mismatch stuff in there now. And a new, small, round, kitchen table and chairs.

I would also like new flooring- maybe bamboo flooring. But, that isnt furniture.
