The first and last were written on a bus to a soccer game. Some are depressing but they are interesting. They are mostly about one of my very best friends and my feelings for him.

The next few poems are in a group called Post-homecoming. They reflect my feelings from what happened. They are in the order they were written and tell my story. Some of my feelings about people changed, and some were new feelings.

Conflicted Reasoning

the lying truth
stirred up my heart,
beating an answer
back to my brain.

I figured it out,
and over again,
my heart surrenders
to the pain.

a new life awakened
inside of me,
I turned to the light
and found a new truth.

the truth helped me live
through that dark hour,
it gave me a life,
and hopefully love.

the truth was hidden
from my sight,
I just couldn’t see it
under my nose.

the truth was revealed
and I found it alive,
the truth in my heart
