since my visit last August? We are going Oct. 3-7 and my kids are wondering what will be different.
The only info I have so far:
-WOC is now showing
-TSM will be CLOSED (OMG SO VERY SAD about this!!!)
-No Aladdin show
-the Orange is gone (we actually really liked that ride)

Any other things you all can think of?
THANKS!! :)

The orange is gone but the swings are still there (Silly Symphony Swings)
Sun Wheel rethemed to Mickeys Fun Wheel
Ears gone from the upside down section on Cali Screaming
Walkway from Tower of Terror to Bugs Land.

(these may have all been in place since last August)

Let me correct you then :cool1:

TSM Is not closed…only during the WOC show—but reports have been that it is still open during the show… :confused3 ;)

The orange stinger is gone but have no hear Silly Symphony Strings Swings is up and running ! and it’s a fun ride! ;) :)

The Aladdin show is still going on till further notice :rotfl:

And WOC is no longer running…. .JUST KIDDING!!! It is!! Faked you out!! :rotfl:

Umm..anything new.. the progress on cars land is going fast!! :woohoo:

And oh at night in the HBL is this thing called GlowFest..very fun ..very family orientated!
:yay:

They're also building the red trolley over by the Tower of Terror. I think they are done with the part on the main street in the Hollywood Studios area. Progress on the Little Mermaid area is going strong too!!

Happy about the swings still being there! And Aladdin too!! :thumbsup2
What about Mulholland madness? Is that still up and running?

I guess that's really all that's different right? Except for all the new things still being constructed, it looks like things will still be familiar.

TSMM will, indeed, be closed during your trip, remfam5, unless something changes or has changed. It is supposed to be closed for a little over a month, I think - starting on maybe August 30th and reopening on October 10th!:scared1: None of us can figure out exactly what TSMM needs done to it that would require it to be closed for so long - since it is still fairly new - but it must be something substantial if DLR is willing to have TSMM closed over Labor Day.

Now, there is always the possibility that DLR could change its plans and leave TSMM open. There was a a big POTC refurb planned a couple of years ago, I think, and it was going to be down for a while but they ended up scrapping that plan and leaving it open. The same thing could happen for TSMM - or, quite possibly, TSMM could re-open much sooner than the expected 10/10 date, so you might get lucky and be able to ride it.

Aladdin is going to be there in DCA indefinitely. It appears that the plans for the Toy Story musical were shelved, at least for a long while.

You should have seen my kids when I told them TSM will be closed: It went from "what?!" :scared1: ... to "you're kidding right?" :sad2:..... to "well, that just stinks!!"

Well, just one more reason to make sure we go back in a couple years when EVERYTHING is finished! :cool1:

LOVE this information! thanks!:)

Yes, it appears - from the info that has trickled out - that Disney decided it wouldn't make sense to start a brand new show in the Hyperion when they are going to be working on that area (and doing some touch-ups to the Hyperion) as part of the DCA makeover. So they supposedly decided to just leave Aladdin there for a while and forget about Toy Story. There are some folks who think that, perhaps, word got back to Disney that people did not want Aladdin to leave, and so they decided to keep it there "by popular demand."

And I still think you might get lucky and TSMM will be open earlier than planned, and you'll be able to ride it on your trip! Seeing that its expected opening is 10/10, and your trip is just within the week before that, I would not at all be shocked if it opened up while you were there!
