Hi,

I spend a lot of time lurking on the boards, especially the Dining Reviews area since the family is heading down for a 10 day excursion in July, at Animal Kingdom - Jambo. :goodvibes

Over the weekend my wife once again caught me checking out more Dining Reviews. She’s perplexed with my fascination with the dining reviews. :rotfl2:

In an attempt to shift my efforts towards a more practical task (we’ve already worked out our ADRs for the trip) she proceeded to ask -- "Is there anything on that message board that can tell us "what's new, specifically attractions, things to see, things to do since the family last went to WDW in August of 2008?" And -- my answer was I don't think so. :scared1: :scared:

I took a look and didn't see anything (that of course doesn't mean it wasn't there).

So here's my ask, since August of 2008, what notable "new" attractions, things to see, things to do can you recommend to my family on our next trip to WDW?

Our last trip was trip was at Wilderness Lodge for 9 days in 08/2008.
We have a son (8) and daughter (6). We're actually celebrating my DD 6th birthday on the trip. :cloud9:

Thanks very much in advance for your info, suggestions / help! :thumbsup2

Cheers,

Space mountain has been revamped. :thumbsup2
The MK nighttime parade is going back to the one before the millenium (I believe). Instead of the Spectromagic, it is going to be the Main Street Electrical parade (again I think!). This might be in effect by the time you are there.
There is going to be a lot of construction going on in MK for the change to Fantasyland/Toontown to the new fairy area.
The Faries section in toontown (inside the tent) is running. YOu will meet Tink and 1 -2 other fairies. It is next to the Princess meet & greet area. Mickey has been moved out to a new location.
There is a new QS location in MK called Golden Oak Outpost. It is a small building with some outside seating, but I have heard the food there is pretty good.
The Studios has a parade that is different. I think it still includes High School Musical and is more like a street party.
I am not sure when the Nemo show in AK started, but it might have been after your last trip. It replaced the Tarzan show.
Epcot innoventions is always adding new things...I know there was a lot under construction the end of last year, so they should be done by now.
Also, I am not sure when Soarin opened, another you might have caught or missed.
That is all I can think of right now...hope that helps! :goodvibes

We were last there in July 2008, and our next trip is this July, also for 10 nights, and we're staying at BWV!! First trip home!!!

Some attractions people have mentioned so far were already there. Toy Story Mania was new (only a couple of months old back then I think). The Nemo show at AK was already playing too.

I know that the American Idol Experience at DHS debuted in Fall 2008. Honey I Shrunk The Audience is no longer at Epcot and was replaced by Captain EO. Some time around when the Pixar film "Up" was released, the characters from the movie were at DHS, but now they have been replaced with a character from the upcoming "Toy Story 3" movie. Remy is at Chefs de France in Epcot's World Showcase during the afternoon Monday through Saturday but that can change at any time. There are fairies now (Tinkerbell and a couple of others) in MK, as previously mentioned, as well as construction going on at MK for the Fantasyland expansion. I'm not sure about when the DHS parade changed, because we didn't go to any parades last time, but it is the Block Party Bash now and I heard there are a lot of Pixar characters in it.

I am also interested to learn new attractions since we last went. I have something in common with you...I am always drawn to the dining reviews and the restaurants board! And my husband keeps telling me, "it's just food!" every time he sees me looking at another picture of Disney food!! :rotfl: We also have our ADRs in place, and have for quite some time, even though I changed a few things around here and there. But you would think I would be more into the park touring plans than I have been...I guess since I use TGM and Ride max, a lot of the work is done for me, especially since for our last trip I did so much research and a lot of it still applies for this trip!

:) Well we are doing HDDR this year for the first time. It will be our 10th trip in 8 years and first time for this. Last year it was eating dinner in France at Chefs and meeting Remy. We had a 5p.m. ADR and he came around to visit on his tray.
