What's new at Disneyland??

We were out on the west coast back in 2012 and had two days at Disneyland. We are planning a return trip next May with just a one day stop at DL. What has changed? Does DL still use the old FastPass or are Magic Bands being used there now? Also, what are the crowds like in May? Our last visit was in August and it was CROWDED!!

Still classic FP but they are now limited to use within their stated time.

New night time entertainment - Paint the Night, Fireworks, World of Color.
Upgraded Alice in Wonderland, Matterhorn, Peter Pan.
New Frozen Sing-along in the (old) Muppet Theater.
Rethemed Condor Flats area of DCA now Grizzly Peak Airfield.

As the PPs have said, at this point, DLR does not have Magic Bands, nor do they have FP+. They are still using the "legacy" FP system, but enforcing return times (with no official stated grace period). They are also using the FP system (although not linked) for WoC and F!.

In terms of May, as MindyLuvsMickey said, that month can vary greatly. Memorial Day weekend is the traditional kick-off to the summer season, so expect "high" crowds (mostly on the weekends) from then through the end of August/Labor Day. The weekend of May 6-8, 2016 is likely to be fairly busy because it's the Tinker Bell Half Marathon. By mid-May, Grad Nites have begun, which may or may not impact the parks (opinion varies on how much of an impact Grad Nites have on the parks).
