We went in 2005 and are considering going again. I noticed that there is no mention of the stingray lagoon anymore. Did they get rid of that? There is also a new grand reef? Is this separate from the old "reef" pool they had? What are the changes? We will be doing a non-dolphin day pass.

They don't have a the old reef or the old stingray lagoon anymore, it is now all part of the new reef. The rays are huge and they're everywhere! The grand reef is pretty nice and has a shark area that you can look at (but not swim through). That's about it, I believe! Still a fun day, we've done the non-dolphin 2 yrs in a row... They are in the process of constructing something new behind some barriers, but I don't know what it is. The map that they gave us just said coming in 2012.

The new feature is the grand reef which is the main snorkel area now. Its nice but a fairly significant bummer in that it is quite a walk from that to the aviary. This bugged me. A lot. It made it harder to keep track of the kids, added a heck of a lot of walking on hot pavement etc. The old layout with everything so close was so nice. We would hop from the snorkeling to the lazy river to the aviary and back. This time you had to insert a whole bunch of walking in between each of these.

The grand reef is nice, but imo there is way too much space wasted on standing room and not enough for deeper snorkeling, the result is people that want to snorkel are more compacted in those areas. The snorkeling is still gorgeous mind, but it seemed like there was more room to spread out in the old area.
