Hi everyone!

Haven't been on here for ages! Have a brain wave this afternoon and am suddenly wanting to return to Florida. Spur of the moment thing! I'm thinking about mid/late May.

Any thoughts?

I'm likely to book around midnight!

A good time to go, whilst it will be hot you will miss the really high humidity of the summer months.
I don't think the parks will be quiet but between Easter and July the crowd levels are about 'average'.

Hi, we're going in May this year too - well technically 29th April :) and have also been previously in May.

Weather was great and not at all humid, both times I have planned around easter (early this year luckily) and when the US schools break up, which tends to be the end of May. Although I have no other time of year to compare to, the crowd levels were fine, we never waited more than 20 mins for a ride :goodvibes

May is lovely! Low-ish crowds and perfect weather - hardly and rain, so no humidity, but gorgeous and hot!! Its our preferred month to go!

You don't want it to be too quiet anyway - the downside of the really quiet times is that some things are closed/run on a limited schedule and IMO it takes something of the atmosphere away.

The positives of booking last minute is that you don't spend 16 months watching your ticker .... :lmao:

I have always gone in May weather is great and low crowds never wait longer than 20 mins :)

I agree, though I make the exception of Universal Studios, where several rides did not open till 11am this Easter when it was busy. :)

The Florida weather can always surprise you. Last year we went towards the end of May expecting cloudless skies and we got quite a lot of rain.

Don't let this put you off, May is usually a wonderful month to visit, we were just unlucky.
I've been at many different times of the year and it can be hot, cold, dry or wet just about any time. Well, maybe not cold in the summer, but you get the idea. I think Spring and Autumn are the best times overall.
Strangely, one of our trips with the least rain was when we went in August! Hardly saw a drop! You never can tell.

I was just about to mention the rain but i was beaten.
weve been a couple of times in may and love it, the crowds were certainly a lot busier last year-esp IOA and US as they seemed to have lots of school groups on trips. However nowhere was too busy that the rides were too long a wait. Also i find there to be a bit more atmosphere with a bit of a crowd.
The rain last year seemed terrible, though reading my trip report from it we had some lovely days. there were a few days when it just rained and rained.
A lot of the time it rained in the late afternoons or evenings, this meant some of the shows were cancelled eg Fantasmic.
other time weve been in May and there were a few short bursts of rain most days but it soon turned sunny.
It still wouldnt put me off from going in May again though.
I hope you all have a fab time.xx :wizard:

We were over there in May 08, and it was great. Using the UG touring plans we literally never queued for anything for more than 10 minutes the whole trip, and the weather was great!
We're going in October this year to try it out then, as it's supposedly quiet similar for crowds & weather, but I would definitely go again in May! :thumbsup2
