OK, while they are still fresh on my mind:
Several signature event pins, no puppet series at all, (some merchandise too, like the "I love Disney pin trading" hat), villain LEs, Minnie POM (some places have Simba & Sebastian POMs) all transportation pins, Mouse Detective LEs, Alice in Wonderland, some dragon I can't recall (too tired tonight, ready to hit the sack in a few more minutes), light up Mickey 100 anniv hat (I found the 4th of July light up Minnie even), Mickey Jungle Cruise just came out today, seems to be everywhere...
The award pins are out already.
LOTS and lots of older racks that auction sellers advertise as "retired", "rare", etc... All the AK event whimsical (except for the white rhino), all the resorts, new Atlantis, older Lion King, etc...
Pretty much what you see on Cheappins.com is available on the racks. A Dis Paris pin is available only in France's store, etc. In fact, what I'll do next time is stock up on cheap pins's just to trade with cast members for newer racks.
I never intended my son to get into trading, but by the last day he wanted his own lanyard and a few pins to play with. Now he is very proud of all the Mickey pins he traded and collected...
Not much on the lanyards. Pretty much the earlier you get to the parks, the easier it is to find neat pins. That is, if you beat those who do not seem to hold a job and land in there before resort guests do, to ransack the lanyards. Epcot's CMs had the crappiest tradables. MK seemed to have neat ones, real great ones at AK (early in the morning), and MGM... About as bad if not worse than Epcot (when you could even spot a CM with a lanyard!).
Careful with what you pick, though. On two occasions I selected pins that did not even have the trademark. Many cast members are not even checking what they hang on their lanyards or what anyone puts in those trading books available at many pin stations. A lot of them did not seem to be very knowledgeable. I had a few old, AK rhino pin station racks and tiger Yin Yang, and they thought those were rare, brand new pins! My impression was that the percentage of CMs keeping up with the pins is lower than I expected. That was kind of odd...
OK, that's all.. I am tired and want to go to bed...
