What's it like on 4th July

Hoping to go very beginning of July next year as gcse year for son so he breaks up end of June. Was there 4th July in 1989 and remember being a little disappointed. Obviously alot changed since then so wondered what it's like now. Where are the best fireworks? Was thinking of maybe trying to get reservations at California Grill so we can watch them as we probably won't bother with Disney tickets again ( not going back till they build something new!!) are there fireworks at DTD?

Well I don't know about the fireworks but it does affect crowds and in 2016 that will be worse as its a Monday, so even more people will use the preceding weekend for an extended trip.

4th of july is insanely crowded in the magic kingdom.
I'm guessing they actually get to a crowd level that causes them to shut the doors, so to speak.

We've been in orlando for the 4th many times. I try to keep us away from WDW.
Several times, i had us on a disney cruise during the 4th rather than be in WDW.
And one time, i decided to head over to universal for the 4th,since they have front of the line if you stay there so crowds are less of an issue.

MK has great fireworks but the crowds are manic. If you wouldn't be staying on site then I fear you'd struggle to get an ADR at the Cali Grill as most would be booked at 180 days.

Only ever done it once and never again. Park hit capacity around 11:00.
It was the only time that we saw all of the Seven Dwarfs together, outside MK posing for photos with guests.
Luckily, somehow we managed to get a pic of DD with them all. (2005)

Couple of years ago we did 4th July fireworks on the 3rd in MK (they do them for 2 nights, quieter on the 3rd) then on the 4th went up to Tavares for the parade and firework over the lake. Amazing, would definitely do that again if we were there 3rd & 4th July.

Any one did 4th July at Seaworld?
