Good call!!! I do bring those with me. Also DH & DS (13) carry their own stuff. DS has been made responsible to carry his own things since he was little: lightweight back pack, water bottle, autograph book & pen, trading pins and wallet.

On his fifth birthday we took him to Michigan Secretary of State so he could get a Michigan State ID. DH and I carry a copy of it with us for that just in case scenario. When we were at the airport and were told to take out our ID's, DS was so excited to show his! Made for an easier transition with ticket counter & TSA, they all just seemed to take a deep breath talking to him and smiling.

I use a Swiss gear sling with:
-Sunglasses

-Chapstick
-Just in case bag (meds for headaches, tummy aches, neosporin, bandaids, etc.)
-Lens cloth for my glasses
-Poncho
-Nail clippers
-Tweezers (learned this the hard way at Fort Wilderness)
-Small bottle of water
-Wet wipes
-Wallet with my ID, AP, TiW, Credit cards
-Small flashlight
-Collapsible bucket hat
-Travel size sunscreen
-Hand sanitizer
-Camera
-Cell phone
-Hair ties

That's the Mio I mentioned. It's liquid mix instead of powder, but makes way more/packs smaller. I have at least a dozen but for Disney I carry the sport drink one.

My park bag is:
-Wallet with cash/card, id, etc
-Camera & other lenses
-Snacks for the day
-Water bottle
-Sweater if it's colder season
-Sunscreen
-Poncho/umbrella if it's rainy season
-Band-aids/sports tape if my shoes aren't fully broken in
-Hand sanitizer mostdays
-Phone & portable charger & wall plug (most of those chargers don't last long I find)
I use a 20k mah lime fuel battery pack has 4 USB plug-ins lasts for days

What does everyone do with thes kinds of big bags? Do you bring them on rides? Can you bring them on thrill rides?

We've always used big bags with a pu pu platter of stuff, but we had small kids with us and would leave the bag(s) in the stroller. But what do you so with no stroller? Do you leave bags somewhere to go on a ride like Space Mountain or do you just being with you?

Last year I carried this Vans backpack and I took it on all the rides with me. Usually just placed between my legs on rides often with one of my legs through an arm strap or holding on to the top of the loop (like what hangs on a coat hook).

In my bag:
  • sunscreen
  • chapstick
  • cell phone w/ portable battery & cell phone chord
  • safety pins
  • travel size bottle with a mix of ibuprofen, benadryl and pepto bismol tablets
  • coin purse with ID, credit card and some cash
  • hand sanitizer
  • travel size pack of tissues
  • gum
  • retractable sharpie
  • a couple ziploc bags
  • plastic cheapo ponchos
  • bandanna - use it for a impromptu headband, napkin, sweaty forehead wiper offer :rolleyes1

Just what @Stephanator said. Sometimes I put one leg through one strap and hang it off my knee... Keeps it safely in place even though the loop-de-loops on Rock 'n Rollercoaster. The trick is figuring our how to gracefully 'dismount' when your are trying to exit the ride. :rolleyes1

Yes, you can take them on rides. On most rides, I put my bag on the floor of the ride vehicle, next to my feet or leg. On rides that move around a lot, like Test Track, i'll run one of the straps around my leg for extra security. There was only one ride that I couldn't put the bag on the floor - 7DMT - so I put it on top of the safety bar with a strap looped around the safety bar and pulled tight. The CM at 7DMT actually suggested that I do this.

i carry a sweatshirt in the bottom of my bag, helps pad the butt when I sit to watch the parades.
A rain poncho, extra battery for camera, autograph book and pen for child I am taking, any
reservations that I make I put them on 3x5 cards and carry those in a special pocket in my
bag. I take gum, advil, hand sanitizer, a refillable water bottle that I can refill at CS and then
I add my single serve Crystal light to put in the CS water and then in my big water bottle.
I also carry granola bars for a quick pick me up.. My camera sits on my poncho and sweatshirt...
That's about it....

Definitely need a very lightweight pair of flip flops for water rides if your wearing kicks with socks - thats the worst when they get wet
a few extra hair ties
travel hair brush
phone charger
chapstick/lipstick
sunscreen
advil just incase
poncho

in addition to the essentials of your phone, cards and money

small wallet w/ ID and cards/cash
phone
Burt's Bees
powder sunscreen
ziploc w/frogg togg
camera

In my Vera Bradley mini hipster I carry...
ID
cards/cash
sample size Wet Ones
Burt's Bees Lip Balm
Phone
Imodium (just in case the food doesn't agree with someone)
nail clippers
small face powder compact
sample size lotion
We'll each carry a Neosling for our water bottle
