What's in YOUR locker?

I have recently become intrigued by the Owner's Locker and may look into it when I'm "home" in September. While I'm typically a fairly creative person, I find I'm lacking in creativity on how I might use the locker. Can you help me unlock some of the possibilities? What do you keep in your locker? THANKS!

Ha, the question is more like, "what ISN'T in our locker"!!

Actually, we have 2 and they are full of all kinds of stuff (I bolded the things that REALLY help us out or make our stays at "home" more comfortable). I keep track of inventory in an Excel spreadsheet. One tab is the inventory, one tab is the shopping list. If I use up something in the inventory and need to replace it, I copy it to the shopping list. Before each trip, I review the list and if there are things I can't get on my grocery stop after arriving, I'll buy ahead of time and bring them with me. Some other people keep things we don't, like wine glasses, a vase for flowers, bathrobe, pillows, air mattresses, framed photos, etc. We certainly don't use every item for every trip, but it's good to know it's there and makes packing a lot less stressful! Plus there's no need for us to take liquids, so we can more easily travel with carry-on only when we want.

Alka Seltzer (36)

You've gotta love those spreadsheets! Tara, thank you so much!! This is more info than I could have ever hoped for. Unbelievable!!

We might as well just close the thread. I can't imagine anyone adding anything else to this list.

Many, many thanks (from a fellow Excel lover!). :flower3:

Holy cow! I can't belive that all fits in there! We put in a lot of bulky items like rain gear and crocs (for 5) and sand toys in ours (along with about 15% of the other items listed above). We use excel too, but last trip DH left his laptop at home. What a pain re-making the list.

I knew I was forgetting something - there's a pair of Crocs in there, too. :)

Believe it or not, it fits very easily - one locker had room for more and the other locker needed a bit of lid-pressing to get it closed because the fleece blanket was on top and its puffiness made the lid stick up. But around the blanket there was still room for a little more.

Here's a picture of most of the stuff laid out before packing (Flickr photo with notes:

Oh no - there are lots of creative purple box folks out there - I learned a lot from reading other people's lists! Glad my list helped though - and Excel rules for stuff like this! My sheet also includes which locker each item is in, a separate quantity column, expiration dates column and notes.

You might also check out the Owner's Locker forums on their site (www.ownerslocker.com) - very helpful, too.

Tara, what a great picture. You must be very good at Tetris! Thanks for the Owner's Locker link. I didn't know that existed. I'll check it out. Truly appreciate your help.

Is it safe to assume that these are about the size of a typical recycle bin? (Well, I don't know if they're standardized. The one I'm thinking is typical for Chicago.)

Yes, I love Tetris, how did you know? ;) That picture doesn't show everything that eventually went in because I added stuff as I went, but then the packing process got hurried because I was running out of time before we had to be out of our villa. I'm sure when we open them in November we'll find a few surprised that I didn't manage to jot down in my hurry...

About the same size. They are 13"h x 20"w x 22"l. The sides are very slightly tapered.

Aside from how much they hold, I really can't say enough good things about the level of service from the company - John and Brian understand what it takes to make happy customers!

Tara, that's an amazing list.
OP, here are a few other things that we keep in our locker.
Extension cord.
Multi-plug strip.
Framed pictures of kids and grandkids
2 - 19" monitors (we work some mornings)
2 - full size keyboards for our laptops
Feather pillow (can't sleep without it)

I need to take inventory on our next trip because my list is a little out of date.
I like the idea of leaving a set of workout clothes, sure beats hauling them back and forth.

I am still in awe! I need some packing lessons! I was trying to fill in all the little spaces as I went up, but those darn crocs and the sand toys are sooo bulky. I'm going to try to do better next time. I'd love to be able to leave some clothes.

This was our original list, but we have added to it since then.
Wi-Fi router
Pair of walking shoes for each
Nightgown
Sandals for each
Full size shampoo and conditioner
Face care
Laundry soap
