What's good at Whispering Canyon?

Breakfast is pretty darn good there too!

As a parent to two teenage boys, I can tell you that the "all you can eat" portion of the skillet is a big plus for me.

I think it's too much food for me and will probably get something lighter like the trout unless I'm starving too!

We've had the skillet once for dinner and it was very good.

For lunch, I always get this though:

Chicken Sandwich - Grilled Chicken Breast topped with Espresso Barbecue Sauce, Bacon, and Cheddar with Grilled Vegetable Pasta Salad or French Fries $13.99

It is very good, but I usually ask for very light on the BBQ sauce. Hubby usually gets the pulled pork sandwich for lunch and he loves it.

Wow! Thanks for all the advice! It looks like the skillet is the way to go! The cheesecake looks great! Thanks for the pictures!

I wouldn't even attempt to order a milkshake with dinner! Makes my belly hurt now just thinking about it!

Any other dessert recommendations?

We were there in January. The best thing was the waitress. I have been to WDW many times and am pretty forgiving about the food. Without a doubt, this was the worst meal I have ever eaten at WDW. I had the steak which was very fatty and grissely. It was definitely not a ribeye cut. (I know my beef!) The rest of family - about 6 or 7 adults - had the skillet. And to a person, each of them thought the skillet was horrible. I have eaten there in past years but this was the absolute worst. The food quality has really gone downhill.

I forgot to make a ressie for our last day and everything is pretty much booked. I came upon WC and found a timeslot so WC it is. I'm glad to see most of the reviews are pretty positive. I have 4 hungry men with me so I'm sure they'll find something to be happy with.

I love the place; I have had the skillet all three times I've been there and I have never walked of that place hungry or disappointed. :woohoo:

I must vote for the Rib Eye Steak. I had that when we dined there in Oct. '08. It was our best meal during our trip(others were character meals). The cheesecake wasn't too shabby either!!! Both DW and I enjoyed it and the kids liked it too. Especially the amount of ketchup they received when they asked for it. Hope it's great again cause we're headed back this October.

We just ate there for dinner on March 20th and had a really good and fun meal. My DH had the pot roast with mashed potatoes and veggies which he loved. I had the chicken and veggie penne which was really good as well. The boys all had burgers with cotton candy milkshakes and said they were the yummiest burgers the whole trip. We would definitely go back to WCC.

My DH and I just tried WCC for the first time on our trip earlier this month, and it was wonderful. We'd been wanting to try it for a long time, and had never gotten the chance until then. We had the skillet and it was really, really good. Everything was really good, and the service was wonderful as well. We would definitely eat here again, and it's become one of our favorite restaurants on property!:thumbsup2

We had the skillet and loved it in June. DH also had two milkshakes and second helpings of the skillet. My only complaint was that when they brought us second helpings, they brought too much.:goodvibes

What's good at Whispering Cayon? The ketchup. It was seriously the worst, overpriced food that we have ever had. And the service was a mirror image of the food.

The skillet is amazing!!!! My DH and I shared it and there was still food left over. The bottomless milkshakes were also a BIG hit with my family!!! Enjoy!!!

DH loves the skillet and I love the Ribeye steak. Mmmmm mmmmm, it is very good.

Last time we were celebrating our honeymoon and asked if I could get a side of corn on cob...pay OOP (on DDP), waitress (who was the best in all of Disney) said "don't worry about it honey, your hubby will have plenty, take one of his".

I thought that was nice.

That is really sweet.

I am making a ressie there for October and it is just my and my 8 year old. If I an adult skillet and a child skillet, can they just serve us out of one? I am very certain we won't need a separate one for each of us, but don't know if the kids' food is different. I just don't want to waste unnecessarily

When we where there in Dec they had me and DH in one skillet than DS in a small skillet just for him.
Some of the items are different and for us it worked out great as picky DS wouldn't have eaten the chicken had it gotten any of the BBQ sauce on it.

I've been to WCC twice. The first time I loved it!! I was impressed with the service and the quality of food in the skillet!

The second time, the food and service was good -- but I was sick for a good two hours afterwards. I am not the type of person to get sick from eating.. It was awful! I did NOT plan for two hours of "sick time" in my touring plans!!!

I have read before that people have been sick afterwards.. I think we may skip it for our next trip but I'm not ruling it out forever.

Being sick immediately after could be any number of things you cant blame this particular place on getting you sick. Maybe it was something you ate the day before or in the morning that got you sick.

So excited, our first trip, 6 days away! We are staying at WL and we have dinner reservations for the day we get in and also breakfast reservations on the day we leave. Has anyone had the pecan pie, it sounds so good??

Just another vote for the skillet. We now plan to go to WCC once every trip. Sometimes the food has been better than others, but we haven't been disappointed with the food or service once.

Feeling a little left out here. I have never had the skillet:confused3 Maybe next time. I had the chicken pasta dish and it was TOOOOOO GOOOOOOOD!! It was one of our favs of the trip! I also got the BBQ Eggrolls. They were a little on the greasy side but that didn't stop me from eating them ALL!:lmao:
