What's good at Raglan Road besides the Bread Pudding?

Trying to decide if I want to keep my ADR at Raglan Road. I've heard it can get very crowded and loud. And also heard the food is fantastic. What was your favorite main dish there?

The menu changes fairly often, but I've never had a bad meal there. Last month I had the braised be beef, which was very good. My sister got the schnitzel and it was absolutely enormous. I don't usually like ham, but I tried a bite and it was pretty delicious. I've had really good pork chops there in the past, but I don't see that on the menu at the moment.

SCHNITZEL.

We still dream of it...and have tried in vain to recreate it at home.

Another person here for the Schnitzel! They went over and above for my birthday. Got a table in the rotunda and was allowed to pick any dessert off the menu! It's a lot of fun with the band and dancers, but it is indeed very loud. Not the place you can have a conversation throughout your entire meal.

We have an ADR in December but have booked a table for before the dancers come on (4pm weekdays I believe) so I hope it won't be too loud, what do you think?

Also, we're not drinkers. Are we going to feel out of place?

When we go there are three of us. One was a 19 year old. Couldn't drink. My husband doesn't drink. And me. I might have a drink, but I haven't ordered one there. And we've been 3 or 4 times.

So, no, you won't feel out of place.

Everything we've had there has been wonderful. I'd say my favorite is the Bangers & Booz, but I've also had the shepherd's pie, It's Not Bleedin Chowder, Heavenly Ham and Pie of the Day and they've been great.

And the bread pudding...I thought I knew what love was, but then I had the bread pudding.

Seriously, how loud is loud? This was one of two restaurants my wife asked to have booked for our mid-March trip, but our 11 year old son has Autism, so I need some clarification - he can handle SOME noise, but...

I haven't gone yet but if you really want to go, I would suggest e-mailing the restaurant directly from their website and explain your situation and see if they can get you "quietest" table.
I e-mailed them regarding time of the dancers and I got reply back from 3 different person. They were really helpful and when I said I wanted table close to the dancers but away from the bar (I read next to the bar can be quite rowdy), they said they noted on the reservation for me.

There are three dining rooms. The main one can be quite loud when the dancers are performing, but the other two are about average. I would just request to be seated in one of the other rooms.

I was there a few weeks ago with family...our reservation was for 6:30 on a Saturday night and we were seated in one of the side rooms and it was loud enough that we had to raise our voices slightly to be heard but nothing that would turn me off from going again. When we were walking back through the main room to leave, my uncle turned around and said something to me and I couldn't hear him at all until he repeated at a yell. It was packed to the gills in there, though, so I'm thinking if you eat at an "off" time, you will be okay.

We ate there 2 years ago at 7pm on a Wednesday night. We were seated in a side room, and thought it was loud there. I can't imagine what the main room would have been like. We were a party of 6, and had the plywood slab right at the head of our table where the dancer danced. Honestly... I don't think of myself as a killjoy... but I could not wait to get out of there. Loved my food...(Its not bleedin' chowder), but could not take the noise. I mean absolutely no disrespect to the dancers, because they are obviously very talented.... but you are basically trying to eat a meal and converse while someone stomps on plywood at the end of your table. We actually asked for our dessert to go, because all six of us just wanted to leave. If you have someone in your party with sensory issues or personal space issues, I would definitely eat there at an off-time.

It is a restaurant and bar combined and has live entertainment. So yes there is the normal amount of noise you should expect from such. It is not a quiet intimate place..but it is a wonderful lively Irish experience. I loved it!
Off hours not a bad idea if crowded bothers you. I have not had dinner there yet..will in March! In the meantime
based on reviews we tried the "scallop forest" appetizer.. WOW WOW if you like scallops they are devine!

We just got back and had an amazing dinner at Raglan Road. The entertainment is extremely enjoyable. On to the food: for apps we had the Kiss before shrimp-loved this so much, had a good kick to it. We also got the scallops, they were great, would get both again. I got the it's not bleeding chowder, great as always. And we got the shepherds pie, I didn't try this but I didn't hear any complaints. I had the bread pudding, of course loved it. And I honestly don't remember what other desserts was ordered, I was to busy with my bread pudding. I love this place, and it is a must do for us. It is load, especially the later it gets.
