Does anyone know why all of DVC, the Deluxe hotels, & the moderates are all completely booked up?

Is that weekend in February bad every year?

I am trying to plan a last minute trip & every day that I call MS, they can find me a room on Wed & Fri. nights, but not on Thursday or Saturday. Saturday night is the P & P Party, but the CM was mystified why there was nothing on Thursday.

Would anyone planning to cancel at the last minute, please PM me & maybe you can help me get a room?

Thanks!

I don't know what is going on but Feb must be a busy month for DVC. We had some points in holding so DH & I decided to go for 3 nights (JUST THE 2 OF US:) ). Anyway, we're going 2/20-24. I was able to get BWV Fri & Sat. night but the only thing at any DVC for Thur. was SSR. I booked that but also waitlisted for BWV - it came through a couple of days later. I hope it's not really crowded.

I'm sure that's when the cheerleading and dance championships are going on. Might it also be early spring breaks?

I tried to get into a value any time in Feb. for inexpensive last minute trip and couldn't get in... over a weekend, that is....

I'm sorry to tell you that this is a very busy week at WDW. Most of the NE states have the week of President's Day for their winter break. It is a nice time to leave the snow for sunny Florida! The weekend before (Pres. Day weekend) is also the Daytona 500 and many combine a Disney vacation with the race. I believe I have heard it is the 4th busiest week at WDW after the two weeks at Christmas and Easter week. We go during Presidents week often and it isn't terrible. You have to plan a little (ex - go to the parks at opening, etc.)

Would the Thurs 2/7 & Fri 2/8 a week & half before President's week be busy?

Do people go down there that far in advance?

I was expecting it to be crowded starting Saturday the 9th.

President's Day is the 18th right so the 16th - 24th should be the busy week.....

right???? :confused3

Yes, but President's Day isn't until the 18th. The race at Daytona is the 17th, the day before President's Day.

I know things have been very booked for Pres. Week for a while now, I'm surprised to hear that everything is booked a full week before too.

Whew! I was starting to get really scared that we were going at a super busy time. We're bringing my Mom who's 79 for her 1st trip--pushing her in a wheelchair b/c she refuses to try an ECV. I was really hoping for a quieter time. :confused3

Yes. Sorry to scare you. I should have added the dates. I was responding and quoted KristiKelly who was going during that week.

OP: the 7th-10th is the last weekend in Value season. With this year's new day-by-day pricing, you can no longer check in before the 14th and have value rates apply for the duration, into what is Peak season. So, folks are forced to *end* their trips in Value, and the 10th, being a Sunday, will be a popular departure day.

Cash guests save a bundle in Value season vs. Peak, and I suspect they are the ones driving demand.
