Well, Airplane! is very funny and I once saw a study that it was the funniest film of all time based on laughs per second or something like that. The sequel though, well, eh, but the first is so great that it can't be brought down by lackluster follow-ups.

Airplane hands down. Watched it so many times and always found something funny missed in earlier watchings.

I think the first Airplane is the funniest of all. Every time I hear the Bee Gee’s Stayin’ Alive, instead of Saturday Night Fever I immediately picture the bar, the knife in the back, the Girl Scout fight, and the parody of disco dancing. Whenever my sister or I have a bad week, we comment that we picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue. If anyone remembers the huge video disc players from the 80’s, the first movie we got to play in ours was Airplane, and we watched it a lot.
