I went to WDW during Thanksgiving week twice. The first time the parks were deserted. It was weird. We were down a street in MGM & were the only family. We had the characters all to ourselves. I thought I had made a great discovery - Thanksgiving week = no crowds. I thought that was great & planned another Thanksgiving trip in 2000. Boy, had times changed. The secret was out. MK was so crowded on Wed., Thurs. & Friday. I don't know about Sat. However, I think that that was just a very bad Thanksgiving as far as crowds were concerned. I don't know if it has ever been that bad since. I know that everyone that I know who went during that time said they'll never go again. The employees were even freaking out. You could see the looks on their faces & hear their comments that this was not normal. Twice I overheard them calling for backup - once at the Christmas store in DTD & once at a ride in MK. Numerous times I've read posts on this site about Thanksgiving 2000. I think that week will go down in history.
