What's cheaper than cheap???

My Grandpas sister and her husband were VERY cheap. They only flushed the toilet once per day because water was so expensive (not). When visitors came over she'd run and flush the toilet but the bathroom always had an odor.

.

That is so totally disgusting!!! I yell at my daughter if she forgets to flush the toilet after she peed in it..I can't imagine not flushing the whole day...I would throw up if I had to go into a bathroom that had old urine in the bowl!

I recycle via putting it in a green bin. The recycling guy picks it up and the county does whatever it needs to sanitize it and use the materials to make new whatever it is they make. :thumbsup2

Is there much of a difference between re-using dental floss and a toothbrush? :confused3

My husband said he was only allowed 4 squares of TP for a "big" job at their house.
Don't know if this has been asked, but how would anyone how much he used???

Yes, big difference. Floss comes in a package of what, 25 feet?? Why on earth would you keep reusing the floss when you can dispense new?

hmmm....now there's a thought. I mean, you use the toothbrush and then rinse it off. Nothing really "sanitizing" going on there. :confused3

I'm cheap and proud of it! And apparantly I am gross too, as posted on this thread.

Yes, I do not let my family flush every time. :rotfl: If it's just #1, you have to wait until the toilet has been used several times before flushing. Yes, I learned this from my depression-era grandparents.

I also reuse ziploc bags, use the plastic grocery bags for other ocassions, and save plastic containers from the deli or from things like cool whip. We also buy a lot of household items at garage sales, and clothes from thrift shops. Lights must be turned off when not in use. A/C and heat cannot be set above/below certain temps. We eat a lot of store brand foods. I clip coupons. I save the napkins and ketchup packets from fast food to-go orders..............I could go on and on.......

I have taught my 4 year old this stuff so well, when he woke up dry in the morning one day this week, he asked if we should save the pull-up for the next night! :rotfl2:
Good for you! We do all these things too, so I'm gross and horrid too, apparently. We reuse as much as possible, and always have a small amount of trash on the curb on garbage day. We happily live well below our means. Our neighbors would never suspect what our net worth is!
