What's better, Ohana or Boma?

Boma, hands down for us. At Ohana, we had three bad experiences. The meats were consistently dry and the staff were always so busy, meaning glasses were never filled.

Boma's has a lot of variety, so there's something for everyone. The wait staff were wonderful.

It really depends on what you want:

Lots of meat - Ohana
Lots of variety - Boma
Lots of activity - Ohana
Better service - Boma

Overall, I think Boma is the better bet. The food is amazing, whereas Ohana is good but kind of one-note (at least in the meat dept). I say go to Boma for dinner and go to Ohana for breakfast with the characters!

I asked this same question for our trip we just got back from in Dec.

We loved O'hana for dinner and almost didn't go back in Dec. and were going to try Boma instead. We ended up doing both and I am so glad we did. We LOVE O'hana. Boma was very good, but O'hana wins hands down.

The food is great and I love not having to get up from the table after a long day at the parks and go to the buffet. It is nice that it is served family style. Plus it is fun for the kids with the "entertainment".

Definitely depends on what you want. You're going to get differing opinions here because the two restaurants are very different.

Boma, first off is a buffet. Ohana is a sit-down restaurant with food served family-style. For us, the food at Ohana was good, but the food at Boma was GREAT. It's hard to compare seeing as Ohana is pretty much a set menu whereas Boma has many choices to choose from- African foods to American (and let me tell you, the choices are plentiful and goood). The dessert at Ohana is a banana pudding that is to die for, but all of the desserts at Boma are to die for as well. Soo.... can't really win there.

In terms of atmosphere, Boma is better. It's still busy and "loud" but it's not where near as loud as Ohana. However, if you have kids, Ohana is a lot of fun with games and whatnot.

I personally would choose Boma hands down. AKL is beautiful, and if you've never been before, you should definitely check out the resort. That being said, I'll admit that we've only been to Ohana once and did not like the experience at all. Whereas we've been to Boma every trip (so around five times) and have never once had a bad experience. (Knock on wood, as we'll be eating there in less than a week!) :cool1:
