We are interested in seeing aligators and were wondering what is more fun, the Boggy Boat tours or Gatorland? And do you always get to see gators on the Boggy tours?

If you just want to go see Gators, then go to Gatorland. It is very educational and alot of fun. You will definately see alot of alligators there.
The Boggy tours are alot of fun too. I wouldn't take small children on them though.

I'm just too paranoid about taking small kids on a boat in water that is full of alligators.

How many and how close do you see gators on the Boat tour?

I haven't been on it in a while, I remember only seeing a few, but I talked to a family that went on it recently and the mother said she was terrified the whole time, and would never do it again.

Well that's good! If she was terrified then it means that it was exciting rather than boring which is what we are afraid of.

But seriously, does anyone else have feedback on any swamp boat tour?

We went to Gatorland and thought it was great! It was raining and about 50 degrees (only bad weather day all week) and it was mostly covered walkways so it was a fine day for Gatorland and NOT busy!

We fed the gators forzen turkey dogs purchased there (I think $2.50 for a bunch of them) and that was pretty exciting for my little guy--age 5. WE had our pix taken with a real snake and a real (small) gator who had his mouth taped shut. We saw the petting zoo area (with hand gel for quick clean up), all the other animals. We hung around for the gator wrestling show--you can have your pix taken sitting on top of a real (medium sized) gator for extra $--the show was interesting and entertaining. They have stories about a few of the more notorious gators that they have rescued....

They have a kids area that was closed because of the rain--I think it's a play area--we didn't check that out. Also they have a rookery, which is supposed to be great for nature photography.

Exit thru the giftshop for all things gator!

A great way to spend half a day. We could have stayed longer, but we were cold! Oh! they do have snacks and pop machines, too.

192 traffic was a nightmare! Plan extra time!
