We only need a car for a week-end in December and wondered what is a good rate. Got an Alamo estimate of 134.21 (total) for Full-size. Wondered if this was a good rate or not.....
Got a 3 day weekend rental from Alamo earlier this month. Cost with all taxes was $73. I used the Amex code and a coupon from Costco. We had a small Chevy SUV.
I can't remember all the details, but I just got my travelzoo e-mail yesterday that had Budget with a really good weekend rate - I don't remember expiration dates or class(es) of car though but it was supposed to be nationwide. It might be worth it to go to www.travelzoo.com and click on car rentals to see what the whole deal is about.
What are the dates of your rental? Most of the promotions that are out now are expiring on 12/14 so if it's towards the end of December I'd expect higher rates.
We're renting a car 12/8-10 so the rates "should" be lower. Actually when I use any of the codes I get about a $170 base price for a full-size car---when using the mousesaver "business" code plus $10 coupon I get $117 base price.
Since we are renting onsite in WDW I thought we needed to rent Alamo or National. Yes???
If you use the VISA contract ID 5005338 with National you should get $105.83 total with taxes for National.
The Budget location at the Old Town Amusement Park provides pickup from Disney - call them and verify if they can pick you up from your hotel... if they can, a full size using the AA BCD U072405 is $57.29 including taxes for the 2 days.
Budget rental also has a place at the Doubletree Hotel in the downtown Disney area. I have't tried them yet but in my resv. it says i can be picked up. Also look into getting you car from the Dolphin Hotel.
