My kids and dh will be in WDW for the first time in July 2006. They are dd 10 and ds 6. We will have the dining plan any suggustions???

was the character breakfast at Crystal Palace in the MK.

Chef Mickey's would be another good one.

I have not been to any besides Chef Mickey for b-fast. but that was the first place ever that my DD and I went in Disney on our trip here in 2003. I had never been here either. A friend that lives here planned Chef Mickey for 1st thing on our first day and celebrated my DDs 6th b-day. She still remembers it, and loves that we had the interaction with the characters for pictures.

I have planned the same thing for my Great Nephew who is coming in April for his first trip - he will be 6 by then. It's the first thing on the itinerary when they arrive as well.

By then we will have been to The Princess B-fast at Norway with friends in Jan and I have scheduled ADR for my DDs 9th birthday in March at 1900 Fare, so I will have some to compare!!!

Which characters do your kids like ?

Chef Mickeys in Contemporary - lively, noisey buffet with Mickey and friends

Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom - many tables, buffet with Pooh and friends

O'Hana's in Polynesian - nice decor, plated family style, Lilo & Stitch, Mickey, Pluto

Cinderella Royal Breakfast (or lunch) -castle decor, plated food, Princesses, make ADR at your 180 day mark if staying at a WDW resort.

Thanks for the advice. Do all charator breakfast and sit down dinners must have reservations?
If so must your package be paid off first if going through aaa?

Also the breakfast at AK is good with Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto and Mickey - the CM's also make it fun there - my daughter is 13 and wants to go back there for breakfast as they are good.

CP is my very favorite WDW breakfast -- character meal or not. The food is excellent. I'm craving the puffed french toast (more like a deep fried donut than anything else). Yummm!! Dh and I even did this meal without the kids during our July/August trip...and we weren't the only adults-only parties there.

Chef Mickey's on Christmas morning was a bit disappointing. The food and character interaction did NOT compare to CP. We also felt very rushed...even though they were (gasp!!!) taking walk-ups. However, our 2 younger children (ages almost 3 and 5 1/2) had a blast. Of course, they enjoy CP every bit as much.

I would definitely recommend Chef Mickey's. We have had breakfast there twice, and it was a memorable party both times. My dd still talks about waving around the napkin, and the trip was over 2 years ago when she was 2. The food was very good, and the OJ was terrific.

We really enjoyed Breakfastosaurus at AK, just the right amount of character intervention and fantastic food (we went for the 8am breakfast in August) Whichever you choose - enjoy!!

There is also a character breakfast at Cape May Cafe with Goofy, Minnie, Chip and Dale. It was realtively subdued when we ate there and character interaction was great.
