I've been reading how good they are but can't honestly say that I've had one. These aren't the lemon slushy things I get are they from a cart vendor are they?

1. The Dole Whip "Store" (a couple of windows in the side of a building, really) is called "Aloha Isle".

2. Aloha Isle is located in Adventureland, just inside from the Hub, across the walkway from the Swiss Family Treehouse.

3. It is the only place in all of WDW to get a Dole Whip.

4. "Dole Whip" is the ICE CREAM (soft serve) treat, itself, made with pineappple blended into the soft-serve ice cream.

5. "Dole Whip Float" is pineapple juice with the Dole Whip added to it (floating in the juice).

6. You can order the Dole Whip alone (which is what I prefer) or you can order the "Float".

Regardless, the Aloha Isle is always listed on my WDW itinerary...
Gotta have at least one Dole Whip, per trip (are you hip?)

Aloha Isle in Adventureland. They are YUMMY!!! It's pineapple. You can get it as a float or ever swirled with vanilla.

Now I'm hungry!!!

Just after you cross the bridge into Adventureland, look to your right and there is a food window. Thats Aloha Isle(I think) you get them there. Now what they are- You have a couple of different options. Theres the dole whip float, thats pineapple juice topped with pineapple ice cream(these are good but a little to much for me) then you can get the float with either vanilla ice cream(really good!!) or a swirl of both. You can also just get the ice cream(also great).
Ok ROBO replied while I was typing and said it much better than me.

A few bucks. As I recall.

I love them. I beleive they are considered a snack if you have the meal plan.

How much one go for?
$3.08 this includes tax, unless they have gone up since February. It will be the best money you have ever spent. One day you will be able to realize, that after that first bite of a Dole Whip, your life was changed forever. :teeth:

Funny, I thought I was the only one who never heard of these. We've been to WDW around 9 times and suddenly I feel clueless! :lmao: We'll have to try them next time.

To all those looking to trying a Dole whip...

Just returned from WDW - I too was looking for forward to seeking out this tasty treat for the first time last week. As we headed down Main Street the sweet smell of Bakery called to me - yet I resisted only because I knew that something greater and far more elusive lie ahead. My anticipation grew as we rounded the Hub and approached the bridge to Adventureland. Click - ity Clack went the stroller wheels over the bridge - my eyes searching for the Aloha Isle sign. There it was up ahead on the right! "Wow" I thought "looks as if I won't even have to wait in line!" As I got closer it became all too clear - Aloha Isle was closed. Shutters over the windows - no sign of life at all. :sad2:
Was this how my grand Adventure to finally taste a Dole Whip after all these years was to end??? It couldn't be!!! My DH was in a hurry to get to Splash Mountain and was urging me onward. I needed a moment to regroup and make a new plan - maybe it's to early in the morning. We'll try on the way out of the park, it's sure to be open by then. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

So I made sure to keep reminding myself throughout the day to pass through Adventureland on the way out. Time seemed to pass slowly that day :hourglass , but the moment was finally here! Just exited Pirates and I was off an running to Aloha Isle :yay: Okay - just passed the Flying Carpets - I can almost see it ........... :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: When to what did my wondering eyes appear but ............. :furious: :furious: :furious: the same sorry site of earlier that morn - closed shutters. So I strolled down Main Street and out of the park with slightly less spring in my step that day.
This same thing happened to me on our second visit to the MK last week too. My conclusion? - Perhaps it is only open seasonally - or on heavier crowd days. I will be trying again in November, but with less optimism than before. ;)

ImagineEar - That stinks! Sorry you didn't get your Dole Whip after you had your heart set on it. Don't give up -- that's just one more reason to go back!

We get one every time we go to MK or DL (the float). Just went to Hawaii for the first time last month. We got a Dole Whip at the Dole pineapple plantation, and OH MAN...best Dole Whip ever!! But I still love my Disney Dole Whips. It's one of those unusual treats that reminds you you're at Disney. :mickeybar

Somehow, when I try to tell people about Dole Whips, there's always a Bob Dole joke in there somewhere...

ImagineEar and any other unfortunate souls that find Aloha Isle closed. Go just a bit further into Adventureland and try a Citrus Swirl. The stand, Sunshine Tree Terrace, located just outside the exit of the Enchanted Tiki Room serves up delicious soft-frozen orange juice swirled with soft serve. I encountered the Citrus Swirl place closed several years ago and tried a Dole Whip instead. It was good, but I prefer the Citrus Swirls.

I have never had A Dole Whip at WDW, but when I was a teenager I worked at a small town ice cream place (like a Dairy Queen). We sold Dole Whip back then (in the dark ages of the eighties). We had a soft serve machine just for it alone and it made TWO flavors at once (there was pineapple, orange, raspberry, etc.). everything was Dole brand. The interesting thing is that it was advertised as a non-dairy product. The mix was powdered, and you poured it from bags into the machine (it did not mix with anything milk-based). It was creamy and delicious! I wonder my Dole Whip and WDW Dole Whip are the same.
This reminds me of a Simpsons episode (parody of Pulp Fiction):
Lou: I went to the McDonalds over in Shelbyville the other day.
Chief Wiggum: The Mc-what?
Lou: Yeah, I never heard of it either but they say they have over 2000
locations in this state alone.
Eddie: Hmm...Must've sprung up over night.
Lou: But you know, its the little differences.
Chief Wiggum: Example?
Lou: Well at a McDonalds you can get a Krusty Burger with cheese. But they
don't call it a Krusty Burger with cheese.
Chief Wiggum: Get out! What do they call it?
Lou: A quarter pounder with cheese.
Chief Wiggum: Quarter pounder with cheese...well I can see the cheese but?
Hey, do they have Krusty's Partially Gelatinated Gum-Based beverages?
Lou: Yeah, they call them 'shakes.'
Eddie: *Pfft* 'Shakes.' You don't know what you're gettin'.

I hear all the raves about dole whips here on the boards. When I go in Dec I wont be getting one though. I dont like pineapple. What other yummy frozen treats do you suggest?

The Mickey Bar.
Extra-rich vanilla ice cream on a stick in the shape of a "Hidden Mickey"
coated with smooth Dark Chocolate (ala Dove Icecream Bar.)

Mickey (Premium) Bars are available all over all the Parks (and in most Resorts.)

I would suggest a Citrus Swirl. It's soft-frozen orange juice swirled with vanilla ice cream. It is at a stand called the Sunshine Tree Terrace. It's located just outside the exit for the Tiki Room, behind Aladdin's Magic Carpets. Enjoy!

You can still get a Dole Whip without getting pineapple. They sell them in vanilla flavor as well.

And the previous poster, guyzmom, was right. Dole Whips are a non-dairy dessert, they're not technically ice cream even though they taste like it.

For those that DO like pineapple, order the pineapple float. It's the best!
