Whats a better strategy?

I have to either cut our last day or our first day. It will either be day 1 (during a chaotic switching of hotels) where we go to a waterpark while moving across Disneys campus checking out at 9:30 AM from CSR and checking in to WL around 3-4 PM with a waterpark visit sandwiched in between and all the problems that will create (wet clothes, running around etc)
OR
Visiting a Park (probably MK) on our LAST day , but having to cut it short to basically just a 3 hour visit (say Am only) and brunch, accompanied by the hustle of check out, leaving bags at the front desk etc. and catching Magic Express home.

Which is better/worse in your opinion?

Cut out the last day and relax at the pool at your resort. For your first day you can go to luggage services and they will transport your luggage over to the new hotel and then you can be on your merry way to the water park and when you're done just enjoy the bus ride back to your new hotel (Also I'd recommend renting a locker for the day at the water park so that you have whatever you need). If you do online check in you won't need to visit the front desk and you can get your room texted to you while you're at the water park. I think this would save you a lot of chaos. Have fun!

I'm a little confused, but I would cut the waterpark out on a switch day. That sounds awful to me!
Thanks. It does seem like too much, but then if we dont use day 1 as a waterpark, it will be pretty boring on 'switch day' from about 10 AM until 3-4 PM aside from being in a pool with no room or luggage. Then again, how can you really enjoy a park day when you know you need to leave the park by noon?

thx for the thought... I like your idea

Also confused by what you mean by "cut". Are you saying you need to cut 1 day of park tickets? Why? If you don't go to the water park, are you going to a different park?
What time is your flight home?

If you are checking out of CSR and into WL, regardless of the plan for the rest of the day, then I would still go to water park. Check out earlier. Get to the water park at park open. Get a locker. Enjoy the day. Change into dry clothes. Check into WL any time after 4p.

Can you explain the switch a bit more as I don’t quite follow it either.

FWIW, we actually like to do a water park on a switch day of a split stay. Pack up and send the bags off with Disney to transfer to the new resort....pack a day bag for anything we need during the day, head off to the water park and have fun... head to new resort late afternoon.... check-in, unpack (if the bags have arrived at that point), start enjoying resort #2.

Since the water parks don’t open until 10am... we feel that gives us a more chill morning of packing up and not feeling rushed to get to a park.

Sorry if I’ve totally misunderstood your question! :-)

I would cut out the waterpark day. By the last day of our trips, rope drop + 3 AM hours in the park + brunch would be plenty!
