Hi everyone!
You know, I love Revenge of the Mummy, but Universal made a mistake when they got rid of it. ROTM should've gone in to US, but in a different location and not as a replacement for Kong. I used to take people to Universal and give mini-tours to friends. The first ride we'd hit was Kong. I would take them next to BTTF or whatever was the next newest headliner at the time. It was a great introduction to the park and every single time I would take someone on it, they'd say something about how much they liked it. I remember one friend say, after we had ridden Kong and then BTTF, "Well, so far you're batting 1000!" People can say that it was outdated, but I don't think so.
It's sad, because Universal was pretty much built around that one ride. And, it was to Universal Studios what "It's a Small World" or "Pirates of the Carribean" is to Disney. "Small World" and "Pirates" will never be outdated. It's not the terchnology, but the experience.
Heck, I miss Hitchcock, too. It was better, IMHO, than Shrek. But, Shrek is cool too, especially if you're a fan of the movies. In the case of Hitckock, I guess I just hated to see it go.
I think I'll start another thread on attractions gone-by.
Thanks.
