My sis b-day is tomorrow so I drove up to Chicago from central IL to watch my nieces so her husband can surprise her with a mini-trip. I will be here until Tuesday.

So far nothing...waiting to see if my friend is going to have us over like she has for the past few years. We eat munchies, drink and play cards. On Friday she didn't seem to keen on having people over...I wish we would have planned something here. I have never "not" did anything on NYE....But it is only 4:30 so there is time for her to call.

I am hosting a party at our home :thumbsup2 :cool1:

I'll be at work, as I am EVERY holiday, and when I get home, I expect everybody will be asleep. :sad1:

We're going to my parents' house. My grandma lives with them. We didn't get to see them at Christmas since we've all been sick - especially me. So I'm very happy we will get to see them this weekend. And we're spending the night.

I miss my grandpa so much on NYE. We used to play board games, drink and laugh our heads off. He was such a great guy.

We just got back from a quick trip to NYC this past week so we are staying in. We're beat! We were invited to a party at a friend's house but we'd rather stay home and relax. We're having a turkey dinner. YUM! We didn't get leftovers from Christmas dinner since we were headed to NYC so we decided instead of junk food we'd have a full blown turkey dinner. Can't wait. The house smells so good!!! We have a bunch of movies to watch including Click with Adam Sandler. :thumbsup2 We're just going to relax!!

Happy NYE everyone!

Shelby

A few friends and I decided to try dinner out tonight. I hadn't even thought about reservations or anything since but we'll see how it goes. Worse case scenario is we're stuck eating MickeyD's or something equally uncrowded. After dinner who knows what we'll do. Probably split up and sleep through the new year since 2 of us have to work at 10am tomorrow.

Going to our friends' house. Not a big party, just a small group.

Sorry about your Dad.. :(

I'll be home alone.. I'll DIS for awhile and then go back to watching the "Reba" DVD's I got for Christmas.. 4 seasons!! No one can cheer me up like good old "Barbara Jean"...:rotfl: :rotfl:

staying home, but some good friends are coming over for dinner and to hang out. Not so much of a party as a small get together. Still fun to be with friends. :cool1:

Staying home......DH is on call so no drinking for him tonight so we decided just to stay home.

We are staying home. Made a nice pot of chili and tamales. Mmmm. I think we will watch a movie or two and check in on Dick Clarks New Year's Rockin Eve. Oooh, the excitement!!! :yay:

LOL I know I am trying to withhold my enthusiasm. yippiiee wahoo

Thanks C.Ann how are you doing this season?
Just talked to my mum and she seems to be in good spirits. I'm ok. Definately better than I have been in the past. Each year gets a little easier I suppose. Stinks when its on a holiday though, you dont have a chance to forget the day as easily, I lost a good friend on this date as well.

Getting the hot tub in order, think I will go spend some time in there. I have some champagne so maybe we will haev a toast before bed.

Does anyone know if there are any kid friendly NYE celebrations on TV? Kids are wanting to stay up and watch the new year come in.

We're going to a friend's house for a party, but we'll leave before midnight. I am 6 weeks pregnant and get exhausted pretty easily.

Also - the pregnancy is a secret so I have to explain to everyone that I'm DH's Designated Driver as an excuse for not drinking - I hope they buy it!!

We have 25 people coming down at 8pm. I am ready and DISing while I wait. For once I am finished ahead of time!

Staying home!

We have decided to do something a little different this year and I am really excited! NYE and NY Day have never been a biggie for us and we are actually pretty pleased to see 2006 go. So we decided this year to use tonight and tomorrow as Christmas Eve and Day Do Over. Tonight we're staying home and heading down to the family room with the tree and candles and some eggnog and watch a few Christmas movies together. Then after DS goes to bed, DH and I will put some clearance Christmas candy in his stocking and wrap up some pirate toys I bought at the $1 section in Target to put under the tree. Then tomorrow we'll all open presents (all clearance after Christmas sale little things), have a nice breakfast, and then later we'll have a Christmas dinner for the three of us. It's Christmas, our style, with no committments, no other family members, nothing. I can't wait!!

THAT sounds heavenly!

This is the first year in 9 that DH & I will be staying home alone for the night. DD18 is going to a party at a friends and staying the night. We had our annual New Years Eve Party a night early (last night) because one of my best friends has to work tonight.

HAPPY NEW YEAR from the "City of Light" = PARIS. It is 1am here. My family spent the evening celebrating with dinner in a fabulous Paris restaurant near our hotel. We are back now to the room and starting to wind down. PARIS is truly an exciting city for celebrating the New Year. Everyone is so excited and just so festive.:cool1:

So HAPPY NEW YEAR to all in the United States as you still have a few hours to go!!! I have already experienced 2007 for one hour and so far it has been a WONDERFUL year....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
