I have stepped on and had stuck in my foot so many different things--pins, needles, (like the needlepoint size that required pliers to get out), rusty nail (all the way through) and a toothpick, which I had to have surgically removed.

I have a fear of swimming in deep water after my father let me watch Poltergeist when I was about 9 or 10. (There's a scene at the end where the bodies are popping up through the swimming pool. Ever since, I've had a fear of running into a dead body in deep water... even in perfectly clear swimming pools. )
