What You Get for the Money - DISNEY!

I was just looking though my chanel guide, and on FLN (Family) today at 4pm and tomorrow at 5pm will be What You Get for the Money: Walt Disney World. A variety of vacation ideas at Disney. I have Direct TV, so its chanel 232 on there. I can't wait to see it!!!

I DVRed it and just watched it. I like how everyone came in under the Disney new affordable package rate of $1,600. Even the family with 3 teenages that didn't get the meal plan! Somethings not adding up right.

I watched it - wasn't that impressed. It would have been more fun if the families got more than $1600 for their vacations. I don't want to see what I can afford, I already know what I can afford - I want to see what I can't afford!

I'm with you, Goofygal, I was scratching my head over comparing the families who got the dining plan with those who didn't. The family with teens just didn't eat all week? They brought all their food in coolers? I don't think so...

OH! and didnt you just love that fact that they seemed to just walk into the restaurant without a reservation 180 days in advance. I'm staying at SOG and we arent even coming under 1600

Did you see at the begining of the show it said "this show is brought to you by Disney Parks". That's when I realized it was going to be an infomercial! I didn't find it at all realistic. People HAVE to factor in airfare and that usually is a huge chunk of your budget.

I enjoy watching anything WDW related, but I did find it very misleading for first timers.

This is very true, watched the show and complete agree, I wasted about 40% of my budget just on plane tickets so that has to be a huge factor.

Did anybody actually watch it to get any tips from a show sponsored by Disney? Yeah right! I watched it to get new shots of my favorite place on earth! I come to the DISboards for actual money-saving tips...
