Not long ago, our 19 y.o. cat died and we had her cremated. I told DSis that I didn't know what to do with her ashes, since I still hadn't done anything with the other cat's ashes. (died 5 years ago at almost 16 y.o.) I don't want to scatter the ashes when I know we won't stay in a house. Then I'd have to leave the "cat" behind. Can't bury the ashes for the same reason. I said that maybe when I died, I'd just cram the cat's ashes in the casket with me.
She pointed out that I am short and will have lots of room by my feet for those two cats and many more.
So that's my plan. Store the cats' ashes until I go and then take them with me.
It's not Heaven without cats.
