I have a little Disney dilemma...I would like to take my DS back to DL in November. Problem, the only way I can go is to hook up with my parents which will include a side trip to Las Vegas. My husband cannot make the trip and we all  agree that it would be too much for me to take DS (he'll be 4 in Nov) by myself.

I don't mind Vegas, but I don't really want to take a small child there. We did it when he was smaller and it was ok, but I just can't see dragging him to this adult place where he won't have anything to do at night.

My DM has been nice enough to offer to pay for some of our expenses to make the trip more palatable. That's so nice, but I still don't know if I should stomach the Vegas trip just to take DS back to DL. (We just went in April for his first visit and we all had a blast!:Pinkbounc which is why I want to go back so soon).

We would like to take him next year during the 50th Anniversary celebration so it's not like it's now or never. I just don't WANT to wait til then.

I need the opinions of other Disney-addicts:earsgirl: :earsboy: to help me figure this out.

Thanks!:wave2:

How long will you be in Vegas? Can you hang out by the pool with your son while your parents do more "adult" things?

We went on a family vacation to Vegas back in 96--2 ds' were 6 and 8. Dh and I arent really much into gambling but there were things to do with kids. They has nice malls there. An M&M store with hundreds of different colored M&M's. There is a great game place to go where they have all kinds of video games. Both my ds' loved. Some of the hotels have kid areas with many things just for kids to do. If its just a couple of days you have to stay there I would do it. Plus the hotels have great pools!

I think it would be about 4 days in Vegas and the same at DL. I know there are daytime things for kids, but at night, unless I take him to Circus Circus :headache: I'm not sure what else we would do...

But the pool does sound like a good idea! :sunny:

Thanks, guys!

Any other thoughts would be appreciated as well!::yes::

Well my daughter hates Las Vegas but I am sure she would go back to get the Disney trip....

That said with a 4 year old just wear him out during the day, shopping, swimming, sightseeing, have an early dinner and then head back to the room for the evening.

You can play games, read stories, rent movies, etc.

There are also a few of those free type shows (pirates, fireworks etc) in the evening that might be good to catch.

Although Las Vegas is definitely going back to being more adult oriented you don't have to go to the shows or actually into the casino areas.

I would definitely go for it.

UPDATE

My mother just got some great room offers for Vegas and now she and my dad will probably go in September. If we do decide to go to DL it will be in November when my DH is going to be out of town anyway. So we agreed to wait and see and if we can swing it, we will go to DL (only) in November.

Thanks guys for your responses and support. :wave2:

It really helps to discuss these important life decisions with other Dis-ers!princess:
