I've rented many times in the past, but all of my previous sellers can't seem to assist with this reservation. I have 2 options on the table:

1.Rent from someone on a board with very few posts and even fewer references.

2.Rent from a reputable seller where this is no risk, but spend an extra $1,000.

It all depends on your comfort level. It looks like you have two choices.

(1) If you are willing to take the risk of renting from a new owner, you could save some money and possible make another "renting" connection.

(2) Keep safe and book through a reputable renting service (TTS, DDavid's rental)

It all depends on your risk tolerance.

Personally, I would not rent from anyone who didn't have a rental contract to sign. Good luck.

Just FYI, the DIS turns away many posters who want to use the DIS Rent/Trade Board to rent their points. Those posters do not meet the DISboard's posting requirements and choose not to pay the nominal fee (which requires providing some basic info) to bypass the requirements. I suspect many of the them are now offering those points on "a board with very few posts".

Probably nothing wrong with them. "Just Sayin'" - i.e., do your homework before you send money.
