Hi

We are going to DLP on New Years Eve until Sunday, staying at the Marriott Ile de France.

I had budgeted around £800 for accomodation and annual passes but the exchange rate is so bad that it will cost another £250.

I am a shareholder so can get tickets and passes at 15% off but it is now cheaper to buy tickets than annual passes, even with the discount i.e tickets will be £308, passes £439.

We are unsure if we will return next year but, if we do, it would be better to get passes.

Also driving so can you get free parking as a shareholder or just with annual passports?

What would you do?

Oh and a Happy Christmas to everyone:goofy: :smickey:

I would personally get APs (we bought Fantasy, but 30 Dec 08 is excluded for these) if there is a good chance of you making a return visit in 2009. Free onsite parking is not a Shareholder benefit (link below), so you would benefit from the APs on this.

Our APs expire in June, and we are determined to make at least one more visit before then (having been twice since June). The shocking exchange rate is making us think again however - but I think the Disney pull will once again overrule common sense (I hope so!). :lovestruc

Have a wonderful trip! And try not to let the money worries get in the way. :goodvibes

Not sure whether anyone can confirm the gate prices for the tickets at the mo but in November the gate prices were higher than those you can get online. For those in our group who didn't have AP's it would have been cheaper to buy before we went without shareholder discount than it was to biy on the gate. So you might want to bear that in mind if you go down that route.

If there's any chance of you going in 2009 then I'd buy Dream APs so that you can benefit from EMH. You'll also benefit from the 20% discount on shopping plus the free parking and 10% on counter service. If you're absolutely certain you won't be going in 2009 then you'd probably be better to buy tickets instead and just use your shareholders 15% discount for table service and shopping.

I feel your pain re the exchange rate ~ when we stayed at the Explorers in the summer we had to pay an extra £30 a night where the exchange rate had deteriorated from when we'd originally booked. Thank goodness I've booked the majority of next year's WDW holiday in ££.

Whatever you decide have a wonderful holiday and a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too. :santa:
